Christmas a preparation story

just thinking about the Christmas story... the time we celebrate the birth of Jesus..

making it real literal..

just like today, they were taking a census... those folks were smarter, more organized than I sometimes give them credit for.
joseph had a method of transportation..
his bride to be was pregnant.. and yet he took care of her even though he knew he hadn't gotten her pregnant.
joseph and mary had good spiritual lives. they were communicating with the One True God.
they did was what necessary to find shelter... in a stressful setting.

help me out folks...
what about the story comes to mind as being applicable to a survivalist?

a murderous king wanted to kill any possible threat, told some travelers to look for the baby Jesus and report back to the king. the wise travelers had the good sense to
detour around the leaders headquarters and keep their mouths shut. they knew the leader was lying. I know of a lying leader today. he's into killing babies too.

joseph hears that a group of killers is coming after their child.
he bugs out to another area for the safety of his family.

Sometimes a stranger's barn is a pretty good place to hideout - especially if the animals can keep a beat!!:cool:

The manger will have the cleanest leftover straw for insulation - the stuff on the ground has been pooped and peed on.
The manger will also keep the baby in one place... Depending on the structure, you might even be able to lock-in a cow or two for warm air (breath)... maybe?
