During an event( PAW - post apoc world) is not the time to "learn" something....your skills/preps should all be tested so you have an advantage when an event comes.
Putting skills/preps aside as in lowdowns example of packing vs using your BOB is what i am getting at.
    think of it this way.

can you trust your pack not to fall apart ?
Can you trust your weapon not to fail?
    do you KNOW your limits?
have you used xyz enough to KNOW that it wont?

i guess a good example would be when you hear folks say " I can (insert activity)..if i had to....."

    see my point....

I think he's referring to on the job training. We want to avoid on the job (in this case in the PAW) learning.

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

The problem that can come up with analytical type people- not saying this pertains to THIS guy- is that they often times don't understand how to relate to people. Nor do they "get it" when they make comments that hurt people's feelings or come across as rude.

The other side of the spectrum is the pure emotional people, they are wrong too, just to the opposite way.

Nothing wrong with being analytical, just use your BRAIN and think before you write or say stupid things that come across wrong. This can happen even when they think they are "being helpful." Get out and work on the social skills, relating to people, talking and listening, conversational skills, etc.

The problem with emotional people is that they jump too easily, are the types that are hot one day, cold the next. Rarely consistent over a period of time.

Probably the best approach would be a middle ground between each two extremes.
