a crisis preparedness website is faltering it seems a.k.a DDD

I used to visit another website (I'm calling it DDD that was into preparedness and many of the same topics we discuss here
(I'm trying not to i.d. that website so that I/we don't advertise for someone else!! and suggesting others don't either- though I think some other folks here have visited DDD also)
now that we have taken an oath of secrecy, lol...

I noticed the owner is not posting...
lots of old hats aren't posting...
even most of the mods aren't frequently posting..
one guy I met personally from there, has less than 5 posts in the last 6 months and he'd gotten a badge or two for being a super member.
I liked it because news info/situations from around the country were constantly posted by various individuals... not any more...

I'm sure a bunch of you guys are active to some extent on various survivalist websites...
I'm curious what you are experiencing over at DDD or any other... (pick your own set of initials to hide the i.d.)

out in the real world, I'm seeing more and more folks talking/walking the walk.
there should be more activity at DDD - I would think.

so, what have you seen?
one thought that comes to mind. is the NSA monitoring - could that have scared off a bunch of folks?

RR, I think the issue is that there are things that are Not Visible, to the General Public... and your concerns can be taken care of by emailing the Owner, or calling that toll free number!

I had need to do the same, when I decided the patients were running the funny walls hospital.

pretty much the extent of it i feel. even the heavy traffic forums slow down from time to time.

also right now..for those north of here its "outside" weather. deer season lower temps, etc. all mean that joe preptard isnt sitting in front of his laptop debating if he should buy multicam,,ataccs or if he should get in on that deal for xyz item on out of stock.com or what have you. he's doing yard work,,watching kids,,camping,,doing all the junk he didnt want to fdo when it was 90f out.


folks have it easy now for sure. but when i got on the web in 00-02 there wasnt much...now my head would exploded and wouldnt know where to start searching lol

Noticed traffic slightly less here and a few other places I frequent right now.

Being involved in the preparedness industry for 21 years, it is EBB and FLOW, feast or famine. Right now it's busy and I believe will stay busy at least through election of 2016.

About 14 months ago, I was not sure of that, it seemed to me (still having some hope in the GDP) that people would get rid of obango and I kinda figured we would cycle into a slower time. Planned and prepared ahead for that. Then I think most of us were surprised to see him win again..... :(

That being said, people tend to get USED TO CONDITIONS. And I think that's what could be going on right now. The amount of scandals and misc. trash is staggering, but we are "getting used to" that on a daily basis. CONDITIONING is the word I believe...

Keep preparing, get and stay out of debt, get in shape and stay in shape, take care of as much of your medical needs as you can, etc.

I bet a lot of the "couch commando experts" are sick of being called out in real life and on the net.
Hence why so many on these sites are disappearing and traffic is low.

Protus hit it on the head for me. With it not being 90 degrees I can actually work my property and not loose 10lbs of water through sweat. It feels good outside, even in the rain we have been having, to cut wood, clear and prep soil.


Waldo, I have only been doing this for 4-5 years in the "prepper" sense, but it seems like you nailed it!


Now that I am seeing ammo again, it seems like things are normalling out in my AO. But the limits suck.

That is what we all need to keep focusing on despite all the crap hitting the news daily. If it's not ObummerCare it's NSA. If. It's not NSA it's the economy. If it's not the economy it's the national debt. And just when we think there can't be another scandal it will be campaigning then election time (which is scandalous in itself). Set goals for the year, and just stay the course.

Ask some questions or just throw in your 2 cents on something that has been out for a while. Share some of your life experiences...you are a living breathing person that has been on planet earth for a few years so I am sure you got something that you can share that is relevant to this forum.
