I need to contact a military associate.... this is old info. I believe associate told me that he was in military school and a Filipino soldier at the u.s. school told him that the muslim problem was very serious... that to graduate from the advanced course for the philipine army that a student would have to participate in a raid against the muslims. regardless, i'm looking to hear about other muslim countries sending aid to the phillipines!

Muslims have been a issue in the Philippines for a long time.
Lots of stuff out there and through out Indonesia etc.

Abu Sayyaf is the Muslim separatist group that is in the Philippines. Abu Sayyaf is the group that spawned Ramsey Yousef who carried out the first bombing attack on the World Trade Center in 1993. My cousin was attached a SF unit 2003-2005 that was responsible for training the first anti-terrorist units for the Philippine army. His unit "advised" the Philippine army units in conducting raids on Abu Sayyaf groups. More like they conducted raids.
