  • DSS to cut handouts real soon...

My wife is a supervisor at DSS and she and all other super's were called to a meeting with the Director last week. Seems that first up on the block is the people willing to work but have to get a voucher for Daycare...Gone as of today. The affects 200 families in my county, not to mention the daycares that rely on that voucher to keep their doors open. Also affected are the DSS workers that run the daycare voucher program, furloughed!! Next up is EBT or SNAP. It will not go away, but people are going to start receiving a "reduced" amount starting Nov 1st. Will affect 27,000 people. No official word on amount, but speculations were by 50%. There were some smaller programs affected as well but cant recall what they were. My county is the most fiscally responsible county in my state out of 100 counties, so if there are cutting, then everyone is cutting. If gov shutdown is not reached then by Nov 1st then all of DSS will be furloughed on Dec 1st. Just a FYI...Plan accordingly.

The news here said SNAP funding from Feds is gone nov1st and the stae representative stated a new law here says if you want help and and under 50 you have to work because this state won't foot the bill! It goes under our requirement to balance the budget under the state constitution. Free ride is over

Looking forward to seeing if this is a bluff or a truth.

The boy scouts motto comes to mind.

The M'berg Five Hundy may be EDC towards the end of the month. With double oughta know better in tow!

A deal will be reached because the gov doesnt want chaos just yet. The weather is still nice for golf.
You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?

Not saying that this is "IT" but the stars seem to be aligning right now. Grid down test scheduled for 13-14th of Nov. EBT/SNAP cutting funds. More ammo at the local shops than you can afford to buy. AR's prices are sub $1000 for all entry level (walmart has Colt's for 1000 +tax). Debt ceiling, Healthcare Ref$rm, etc. etc. Its almost like someone or something is trying to get people to lose their minds. The TeaParty "Crazies" were smart enough not to take the bait, but we all know that the FSA will riot over their team winning a superbowl. Imagine when "dem babies" cant eat! Riots will be everywhere, and free big screen tv's for everyone.

Training and preparing is something that never stops. Even in the twilight of a civilization, continual training cannot be set aside.

                        Even for Chuck? LOL
It's never too late. A good NCO will be checking and showing things all the way up to the time the door opens because it's not too late even then to make the final tweek and learn. Got a class Sunday and a sightin get together Tuesday, reckon thats to late? I bought 150 556 today, wasn't too late although I did not get enough musketcaps for upcoming season, might be too late :(

I know I'll have the greatest, most fearsome weapon known to mankind if TSHTF. The one that unleashed, will do more damage than the Fat Man, Little Boy and Tsar Bomba combined along with the Dresden bombing, the USS Iowa, Hurricane Katrina and Mount Saint Helens. Like the amazement of how those little dinosaurs come out of the pill when you put it in water, the enemy will be amazed at the sheer ferocity and destruction that can be contained in such a small-ish...ummm, man sized package.

                          I will wield the MATT.

OKAYyyy. :-) If you think Campfire girls level of things is sufficient. I think Bo Gritz x10, myself. Know how many it takes to carry one ineffective? 10. 4 to rotate out carrying them, 4 to carry all the extra gear doffed by those carrying, 2 more to watch over the others who are too fatiqued from the carrying to have their heads out of their butts.
