While none of us may be Seals or get into as dangerous of stuff hopefully there are lessons to be learned here and since no one listens to anyone unless they were a Seal here's an article just for that.
I feel that things can be reduced to a starter level for instance it doesn't have to be a Giant Slayer HK45 it can be any handgun you are comfortable with and maybe not a HK$$$ AR but the best rifle you can carry/afford etc.
Water, pocket tools etc are notable items that need to be around at all times IMO

Yep, I carry tool and water every where I go, just never no when you might need them.
