I'm a member of the local Search & Rescue group & helped in packing out a person last night who had broken his left lower leg while off road motercycling. Neither he or his partners had survival kits. But while they were waiting he directed the young man with him in how to get a fire started, they got one of the motorcycles runinng and used the hot head pipe to start toilet paper as tinder. A new method for me. these guys in their daily life are trained to resonded to emergencies 'in the real world" but were totally unprepared equipment wise, off the pavement.
