  • Looking back 20 years or so....

I wrote the first 21 points to some friends in February 2013. I may have missed a few points, so feel free to add any I left out.

    Look back 20-30 years ago. Who would have thought that;

    1. We would have essentially eliminated prayer from school functions
    2. We would have been thinking about allowing girls and gays into the Boy Scouts
    3. We would be even talking about gun registration and confiscation as it is happening in some states
    4. We would be $16+ trillion in debt
    5. We would be paying a buck a round for 5.56
    6. We would not have a federal budget for 4 years despite the fact that it is illegal to operate without one
    7. We would have the LGBT society at University of Central Florida petitioning for a unisex bathroom as they don't feel safe in a male or female bathroom
    8. We would have a prez that won't allow access to his birth certificate or college records (and the people and media stood by and allowed this crap to occur)
    9. We would expel small children from school for bringing a fingernail file to school or a toy bubble gun or making a gun shape from your fingers...list can go on
    10. We allow, let's say, 50% of the population to be on gov assistance
    11. We allow 11 million illegals to remain despite the fact that they committed a crime to get here
    12. We allow the media to continue with their lies without our elected officials confronting them
    13. We continue to elect and re-elect idiots (Guam capsizing anyone?)
    14. We elect felons to CONgress
    15. We allow our gov to continue to bailout the banks and their cronies (media failing again)
    16. We allow our gov to bailout green energy companies only to have them fail months later (media failing again)
    17. We allow the highest office in the land to be bought by special interest groups (media failure...again)
    18. We continue to pour money into the education system only to see worse outcomes
    19. We continue to pour money into the economy to "stimulate" despite it didn't help the first two times
    20. We "overthrow" other govmnts and allow the MB to take control and then give them tanks and aircraft

Did I leave any out? I would LOL, but I'm to busy saying OMG where are we heading?

    Oh I did,
    21. We would even be talking about socialized health care and the fact that ALL people will be required to participate.

    I added a few more...this 29th day of September 2013.
    22. That we would be talking about spying on the common man by our own gov.
    23. We would allow gun running to Syria, thru Libya and nobody in the media pursues the truth, even after we had an Ambassador and brave Americans murdered.
    24. Who would have thought that the IRS would target conservative groups....and not be investigated and prosecuted.
    25. The Federal Reserve feels it needs to continue to pump money into the economy, despite what history has shown....Argentina and Weimar Republic come to mind.
    26. That we would even have something like Common Core to talk about!
    27. That if a common man would speak out against Common Core, he would be arrested.
    28. That a boy would be expelled from school because he was playing with an airsoft pistol in his front yard. Gosh, I would have never made it thru elementary school as I played with cap guns, and don't tell anyone, but I took them to school and showed my friend AND teachers! And, in high school I had my knife in my pocket almost every day. :-0 Some of my friend even had their shotguns in gun racks in their trucks.
    29. Our gov would not allow new refineries to be built in the last twenty plus years.
    30. Our gov would put such tight restrictions on the coal industry that they are being squeezed into closing down productions.
    31. Our gov would not allow drilling or fracking on gov owned land.
    32. Our gov would not allow offshore drilling, but give millions of dollars to other countries for their offshore drilling programs and agree to buy their oil.
    33. Our gov would be thinking, and probably doing behind our backs, arming our enemies...and worse, the media again remains silent. Does anyone remember "Fast and Furious" gun running in Mexico?
    34. Who would have thought that the US postal service would be billions of dollars in the hole.
    35. That we would be increasing the debt ceiling once again, the eighth time in Obamas presidency, and there is no measure to control or decrease the deficit.
    36. If you speak out against the radical Muslims, the illegal immigrants, the blacks, the progressives or Obamacare you will be labeled a racist.
    37. The Sec of State would sign a Small Arms UN treaty.
    37. But yet, I never would have thought that in my lifetime I would have been called a domestic terrorist because I stand up for the second amendment, I believe in Jesus Christ and read the Bible.

Where are we...the gov now owns or controls
    The auto industry
    The education industry
    The health care industry
    The energy industry
The banking industry (or maybe the bankers own us, hmm?)
    The media
The defense industry, and possibly the upper management of our own military
    And, 50% of the population.
We are $17 Trillion in debt, with no willingness on either side of the aisle to lower the deficit.
We continue to pump $85 billion per month into the banking sector.
We continue to see double digit unemployment despite the lies the gov tells us. Look at what John Williams with Shadowstats.com has to say.
We have an inflation rate of about 8%-10% (1980 based) per Shadowstats.com . The gov "official" inflation is about 2%. Has your food and energy bills only gone up 2%? Gasoline was about $1.80 in January 2008.

Now, our fine nation has a debt of about $17 Trillion, with about $12 Trillion held by you and me...the public. Currently the interest rate on this debt is about 2.4% according to the CBO, thanks to the Fed. Traditionally the interest rate has been about 5.7%. Data here.... http://www.cnbc.com/id/101062461 . Now here is where it gets interesting, the CBO feels the debt owned by the public will reach almost $17 Trillion in less than seven short years. If we return to traditional interest rates of 5.7% (which I feel will likely be higher) we will be paying $930 Billion in debt service costs. Now take the fact that the gov collected $1.1 Trillion in taxes in 2012. Now we know that taxes will increase during the next seven years, but the question is how much will we need to pay just to pay the debt service costs if interest rates increase to 5%...how about 10%? What programs will need to be scaled back or eliminated all together? What will happen when the DoD, SS, and EBT cards get scaled back? Do you think we can still just print (electronically) more money without some sort of consequence?

We currently have elected officials that do not understand the mathematics behind compounding interest rates or are choosing to ignore them. Take this example...
Let's say that you have a pond that is 1000 square feet (50'x20') that has your fish in it that you plan to use in a SHTF crisis. You notice a lilipad in it one day (Monday) that is 1 square foot in diameter. Now, you know that lilipads will choke off the oxygen to your fish if it eventually covers the pond but heck, it's only one pad. The next day you notice that there are two pads, and then four pads the following day but still it is just a small percent of the pond. Then on day four there are 8, day five 16 pads, day six 32 pads, day seven 64 pads. So in a week, there is still less than 10% of the pond covered. You think, heck I'll clean it out next weekend....
Day eight (the following Monday) 128 pads, day nine 256, day ten 512 or just over half the pond. You think again, I'll come back down Saturday and clean out the lake. The next day (day eleven) you look and there are dead fish floating on the surface in between the lilipads that now cover the entire pond. Your fish are dead....You're screwed!

Where do you feel America is today? Day two or day ten? Either way, the day is coming unless drastic changes are made. Maybe sooner than later.

It's a sad state of affairs and when you put it all together, it looks horrible.

But if you put the words "Most people don't care that" in front of the majority of them...

It starts to make perfect sense. We have become a society of apathy.
Experience is a cruel teacher, gives the exam first and then the lesson.

This stuff isnt recent and if you can find a copy of the old ASG (published within the time frame)or just read some of the "fiction" books you can see the issues were there then. I was fighting health care back then and a much worse gun control than we have now.

      1. We would have essentially eliminated prayer from school functionsstarted in the 50-60s and really got turned on in the early to mid 90s
      2. We would have been thinking about allowing girls and gays into the Boy ScoutsGay scout leaders were just ignored but they were there just like priests and school teachers/coaches.
      3. We would be even talking about gun registration and confiscation as it is happening in some states We were and certain states were already starting and the national brady bill started
      9. We would expel small children from school for bringing a fingernail file to school or a toy bubble gun or making a gun shape from your fingers...list can go on zero tolerance started in the mid 90s
      11. We allow 11 million illegals to remain despite the fact that they committed a crime to get here started heavy with klinton within your time frame
      13. We continue to elect and re-elect idiots (Guam capsizing anyone?) Started in 65
      14. We elect felons to CONgress started in the 1700s but really ramped up in the 80s and 90s
      15. We allow our gov to continue to bailout the banks and their cronies (media failing again) started in the 30s
      16. We allow our gov to bailout green energy companies only to have them fail months later (media failing again) in the 70s we bailed out railroads (supposedly more efficient than trucks) and banks and even cities then the 80s was car companies and banks again right here in my state and many of them have failed and disappeared or even worse been takin over by foreigners
      17. We allow the highest office in the land to be bought by special interest groups started a few hundred years ago
      20. We "overthrow" other govmnts and allow the MB to take control and then give them tanks and aircraft kuku khomeni, panama, the ugandan nightmare idi amen, any of these strike within the time zone
      21. We would even be talking about socialized health care and the fact that ALL people will be required to participate. 20 years ago it was klinton trying to ram this down our throat
      22. That we would be talking about spying on the common man by our own gov.they did alot in the 40s on orientals in WW2 and started real heavy in the 60s (kommie red scare) and has just continued to snowball sometimes out of necessity but usually out of control interest
      23. We would allow gun running to Syria, thru Libya and nobody in the media pursues the truth, even after we had an Ambassador and brave Americans murdered. mexico and the zetas (American SF trained and equiped) started within your time frame
:-0 Some of my friend even had their shotguns in gun racks in their trucks.ditto but again overly public liberal too willing to give up rights for "safety" supported zero tolerance started well within the time frame
      33. Our gov would be thinking, and probably doing behind our backs, arming our enemies...and worse, the media again remains silent. Does anyone remember "Fast and Furious" gun running in Mexico? like iraq? like panama? how bout 20-30 years ago with the afganies? anyone watch rambo 3?

I can easily point to 20-30 years ago or longer and those who were of age and in charge beginning the majority of this stuff. Yes some of us who are older know where it started. It didn't start in 08 but with some of those who whine the loudest right now that chose to ignore or thought it was a good idea

Matt, I agree with your points. I just feel that it is more noticeable now. Things seem to be spinning faster and the gov is coming out with bold face lies. The numbers are spun so the sheeple won't notice. Maybe part of it is that we now have the web and the alternative media, so this makes it harder for the lies to be kept a secret. As you pointed out, much of this started 50+ years ago....Jekyll Island anyone? The point I was trying to make is that the pond seems half full of Lilly pads. Time is running out.

A frog in sitting in water never notices when heat is added to bring it to a boil. I think America is just like a frog sitting in water that was put on to boil about 50 years. I would even argue that it start back in the 1930's with social security. As a country we have allowed the federal gov't to take over every aspect of our lives ever since.

Just a few examples:[*]The Economic Opportunity Act signed into law in 1964 started the "war on poverty"[*]The Food Stamp Act started in 1964. 47 million people are currently receiving food stamps[*]The Dept of Ed was created in 1979. America has since ceded its lead in math and science on the world stage[*]The 1980 bail out of Chrysler started the whole idea of "too big to fail"[*]The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 gave amnesty to 3 million illegals....it was supposed to be a one time deal
"One cannot but ponder the question: what if the Arabs had been Christians? To me it seems certain that the fatalistic teachings of Mohammed and the utter degradation of women is the outstanding cause for the arrested development of the Arab. He is exactly what he was around the year 700, while we have kept on developing. Here, I think, is a text for some eloquent sermon on the virtues of Christianity." - General George S. Patton, diary, June 9, 1943.

We may not have seen it coming 20 years ago, but those that started us down this path did. What has been happening has not happened by chance, rather by design. I have long said that the difference between the political parties is only how fast we get there, not the destination.
