  • getting directions and a visit to wally

years ago i lived in a suburb county south of atlanta, so i'm familiar with area.
we passed through there last weekend...
called wally world to get location.
    it was horrible.
they didn't know address of store.
the store is very near a mall that's been there for decades and a major interstate.
they didn't know if they were north of interstate or south.
they didn't know if store was north or south of mall.
i got directions that primarily included the phrase "come on down this way."
i know the towns on both sides..
the town where the store is located has a large "town city complex" sign and 1/4 mile from store.
the wally world operators did not know how to get to store from any of these references!!
    ----
    ahhh!!
    ----
it was clear over the phone that they were all from another continent.
this county also has been in the news for having bad school system and school board.
    ---
    i finally got there.
sad to say, but i was in the minority... the majority were hollering, shoving, screaming,
the women (even the 300 pounders) thought stretchy tights made them look good.
there were some central americans. they generally behaved. yep i was profiling!
several times i passed an older asian. he and wife always smiled..
we were constantly courteous to each other. he more than me.
i could tell he didn't like the shenanigans going on among the majority.
profiling?? yep. the asian (jap, i think?) is welcome at my camp.

glad we moved from that county. glad i was just passing through. it's a shame.
it was a proud working class, industrial, county, good schools, not so long ago.

        rr,
Maybe you should have asked if they could pull out their obamaphone and get a location....just sayin' ;-)

i'm standing in amazement at what happened in the several phone calls to get there, and then the pandemonium (sp?) in the store.
260# youngish majority mother is hollering back and forth at 3 boys. even though it was a little hard to interpret their comms, there was no real benefit to anyone, even them. the youngest boy was standing in the buggy dancing around. suddenly the mom grabbed buggy and snatched buggy causing youngun to crash down hitting his head... this caused extreme happiness among the mother and other 2 boys...
japanese man and i just looked on at wide eyed amazement and shock.
an associate of mine used to teach young kids in public school.
associate had a song she taught the little kids.
"going to the zoo, zoo, zoo"

when the majority of folks take on these characteristics.. i'm concerned for area.

              Cobb County, rockriver?
The reason I ask is because the trial of the two black "youths" who shot and killed the white baby in the stroller in Brunswick, Georgia was moved there. Supposedly so the "youths" could get a "fair trial."
              The fix is in.

cobb is just northwest of atlanta.
hmm. interesting that trial moved there. i didn't know.
let's postpone the discussion about "fix" or write me privately.
i'm very familiar with both areas... different.

the county in my wally world visit is just south.
atlanta is primarily in fulton county... east of fulton is dekalb with main town being decatur.

Our experience with Wal-Marts has been the further you get from corporate headquarters, the worse they get. The one we went to in Tampa was downright scary, but here within 100 miles of corporate, they are neat, clean, and have nice wide aisles.
