I don't know if any has asked this, I didn't see it any where. What are you going to do when you run out...ie bullets, shell, primers,ECT. Do you have an resupply plan. What if there's no trade where you are hold up.

I'd be more concerned about the long term health implications of disease, contamination of the ground water, the carrion problem... I would assume the smell alone would be impossible to live with?www.homesteadingandsurvival.com

I don't expect to be in a consistent firefight forever because dang few will actually survive. If you are then there should be weapons and ammo lying about for taking. Ask any Soldier who has been there and done that how many firefights it takes to get offed and how many they think they can continue to survive.
I agree with LD3 on health issues etc. being more pressing. Lets take the last year here. I got the real flu, went down hard and without tamiflu would been worse maybe way worse, another family member blew a knee, without the surgery and rehab she would be crippled, another has a lifetime disease and without the advanced meds she will die, another popped a shoulder so there's another cripple, high blood pressure will kill one without the meds and so on and this wasn't the best year but not the worse either.Knowledge is Power, Practiced Knowledge is Strength, Tested Knowledge is Confidence

a guy just left that knows a lot more about finances on world market than me..
he says japan is about to go kaput... i hadn't heard that... brought on a big discussion
about what would that cause and a "last minute shopping spree"
we too have had some med. issues.
i got bit by ? spider? and it won't heal... have been self medicating. and the swelling has stopped, and diminished a little... if i had it to do again, i'd have gone to dr.
it finally stopped when i put a match to it.. anyhow, what if it had been serious kind of bug?
battle axe.. great idea. an axe or hatchet/hawk can be had relatively cheap now.
at last house, when the creek went down, there was huge pile of flint chips in creek.

Like MIO and Lowdown said, there will be a big die off from general health issues. Just look at the American bellies, big and round. I've talked to some who just say, "well I can live longer without food because I have stored my fat." Yea, not so much. Many with diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, cancers, vascular disease, addictions to illegal substances or even Rx pain meds or SSRI/psych meds will likely die or get killed within the first 3-6 months. Some will be preppers. Some will be looters. But just pay attention to those you see in stores, church or maybe in your own home. Overweight, out of shape or on chronic meds. Some cannot help the situation they are in, I understand that. But, others can and choose not to get up off the couch and move!
I encourage everyone here to get outside and do some sort of exercise at least 3 times a week. Lose some weight and get stronger if you can. I believe, time is running out.

I know a few that subscribe to flintlocks and homemade black powder and a supply of lead and antimony for this question but my belief is that is extreme. Some even go so far as catapultsKnowledge is Power, Practiced Knowledge is Strength, Tested Knowledge is Confidence
