I believe we have to pay attention to the big picture. Egypt has the Suez Canal, Iran has the Strait of Hormuz. Both are critical waterways for fuel and goods. Syria, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Iran and Iraq to name a few have been in various states of turmoil over the last few years.

We are going from crisis to crisis very quickly, more so than I can ever remember. One crisis seems to overshadow the previous ones. For example, where has Benghazi gone....or the IRS scandal, or even the Snowden/NSA scandal?

The Obummer has and continues to reek havoc on our economy, the fossil fuel industry, the healthcare industry and military. Remember he has laid out many of the things he wants to do in his campaign speeches, and continues to drive the agenda.

We have a lot of "things" happening around us. If you are not paying attention to the global news, I would suggest you do.

    Just my two cents....

Lot's more than ROP'r sectarian violence going on over there: http://www.al-monitor.com/pulse/orig...ls-regime.html [quote] But it is not just their home turf that they are protecting, many have also volunteered in the Syrian army or the various pro-regime militias, fighting on many frontlines in the city. One such case is the sad story of a young Christian boy named Salim Nahhas, whose siblings I knew quite well. He was only 19 when he died fighting with the regime against the rebels in the Rashdeen area of Aleppo in July 2013.
His family set up a tribute group on Facebook, where heartbreaking messages and photos are posted. But the most remarkable aspect of Nahhas

They are gonna get us into Syria now so the muslim brotherhood/Al queda can take over.

Just great. Our muslim president is gonna tick off the Russians and Chinese over what he knows to be a fake chemical attack. And the media along with john mccain and lindsey graham are in on it too.

This could very easily blow up in America's face so BE READY!

Gog and Magog are gearing up for war. The setting is right, the timing and age of the Israel nation is right/maybe a bit young, There is really nothing left.

On the side of politics, We need to stop playing world police. If you feel there is a need for war then go to war and get it over with. If you don't feel it is time to go in, then leave them to their own civil war (my vote). Stop trying to justify giving weapons to the "civilians" because you are doing nothing to help our situation. Change of leader will mean nothing there, and I feel it's the focus is being put there to pull some heat off of our own NSA.

that means causalities...between the media and politics..people dont want that. remember all the out rage and media play the wars got when casualties ran over 1200 kia in x years ..what about when it crested 3k after 3-4 years. our society doesnt wanna deal with that reality.
sure they want "peace" in these areas but they want forces to just basically stand there hands tied like a hall monitor.

and yeah going into syria will be a bad idea.....i firmly believe we should politics wise start practicing some isolationism. and deal with our own problems at hand.

If the terrorist, oops I mean freedom fighters did do it then it is no good for us because they hate us. If the syrian army did it it's no good cause they hate us.

There is no national security risk with this conflict and neither side is amicable to the US or our interests. I am with Sarah Palin on this one..... just let Allah sort it out.
"One cannot but ponder the question: what if the Arabs had been Christians? To me it seems certain that the fatalistic teachings of Mohammed and the utter degradation of women is the outstanding cause for the arrested development of the Arab. He is exactly what he was around the year 700, while we have kept on developing. Here, I think, is a text for some eloquent sermon on the virtues of Christianity." - General George S. Patton, diary, June 9, 1943.

See your own sig line? Seriously though. Can anyone tell me any reason why we should get involved in aiding either side at this point?

I agree with Matt... We should not be involved at all. We are already knowingly suppling "Terrorist" with weapons and then calling them "Freedom Fighters" and we all should be upset at that fact. And now we (our "Officials") are considering using force? What is the "goal" of this force? If it is to "punish" the government than setup some trade sanctions or other "political" tool. But we should not HELP either side, Both sides are not our friends and we really dont want to be friends with either side.

Rand Paul puts it pretty succinctly in less than a minute.
