Looks like I'll be talking 3-4 pm Thursday and Saturday as Adam Wallach is in that spot on Friday.

ld can answer you better benn.

btw, i like the dalton area. it's on the interstate. hard working community. carpet town. folks have jobs. low crime rate. nice area to visit.

              all,
i've only been an attender and not a sponsor or coordinator.
it comes to mind that i drove 300 miles south to a "seminar" and
about 450? miles north to a prepper tradeshow/seminar.
              it's worth it!

i think these are sponsored by an individual or a business. they front the rent and fees. then request folks like ld3 to speak. a fee for the speaker would be appropriate. maybe the speakers absorb the travel expense themselves as a kind gesture? the speakers do get some advertisement for their businesses by speaking
so maybe the speaker fees are low. ??
the sponsor will likely rent out "tables" (like a gun show or coin show) to vendors, hoping that the sponsor gets enough table rent to offset the expenses they've committed to for the facility rental, advertising, expenses, security, etc... .
sponsor then hopes enough folks attend and the ticket sales at the door help finish covering the expenses and the sponsor can then hopefully make a small profit, to encourage him to put on another trade show.

all, i have found that the vendors will make very fair trades at these shows. they've loaded up their u haul trailers with goods and traveled a long way. like a gun show,
they would rather not haul all that ammo or food or gear or body armor back home!
go with cash in hand, and enjoy the shopping. i also found the vendors to be very willing to share information and training regarding their products!

bottom line. attend a conference or two. watch and observe. then get together with some other like minded folks and put on your own show in your area. a higher population in ohio than georgia! hmm. if you had a facility with low rental rates, what a huge head start to a successful event.

This is the first show beginning on a Thursday that I've attended, I think maybe ever.... or so long that I can't remember (getting older and all...) I expected Thursday to be slow. Friday ought to be better attended and Saturday as well. No show on Sunday.

Looks like I'm speaking 3-4pm Friday and Saturday 1 to 2pm. I'll be leaving the show right after that to make the 6 hour drive home after.

This is a new promoter and he's working the bugs out as everyone in business has went through, but he's got a decent attitude and he's trying and that goes a long while compared to others.

                Come by and say hello.
