I guess today's version would be:

Two-five two actual. Move it out, hit x, double click on Y. Mom says 5 minutes before we have to go to bed!

          thanks!!

i was impressed with how the game was really helping.
          then
i was impressed with all that matt knew and obviously had really experienced.
          then.
i don't know what protus said but it must be something real significant. unless it was
          pattern of patrol?
          then
ld brings it all to reality and describes the mom, i mean, sgt giving orders that it is time to go to bed!!
          thanks guys.

There is NO substitute for "REAL" training. But for a group that is geographically challenged, we could practice patrols a couple of times a week and maintain that level of synergy required for real world patrolling. 5 of us were in the Marines, and 3 of those have tours in the sandbox as experience. You cannot simulate julie rotten crotch, nor would you plan for rottencrotch on a patrol, it would happen and you would deal with it. Think of online patrolling as making a plan. You can change it up as much as you want, but at the end of the day when a plan starts everything changes. For instance, we would patrol online for hours playing the game. Then when we went to the woods and really patrolled everyone would fall into place, just like the gameplay. Also like game play, you knew where everyone would be. For people that have full time jobs, prep, are active in the community, etc. there is not a lot of time to gear up and go for a stroll. But making use of the technology available makes our legitimate training more productive. We train how we would fight. We dont have grenades in real life so we dont use them on the game. Our rifles are semi only, so we only use semi-auto on the games. we have some homemade smoke bombs that have a fuse that we will use on our live patrols, as well. Just using everything available to further our training.

Where the game shines is in p2p communication when playing. Private game modes allow a few folks to work basic verbal commands.for example. You playing walking down an alleys when the opposition fires from a second story window. Do you all scatter or call out the threat?? Contact 11 o'clock...second floor.

Me when I play I reload..use cover...watch my Co players 6 etc. Just like I would in reality.
Thought at time it is fun to just play....its no substitute for reality but can strengthen some basic observation /communication skills,.

The comms are nice for sure. We bought throat mic's for our motorola's, and one of the things that was different was that in the game you talk in a loud voice for people to hear. Wearing a voice mic you can talk real quiet as you slip through the woods and then somebody forgets and "CONTACT FRONT" bellows into your eardrum.

ive started or have been playing medal of honor. the new one forces you no matter what game style you pick(team death match, sector control(like capture the flag) etc)..you are paired up with a partner. the whole team is broken into 2 man fire teams.
when your "partner" actually plays/has a mic etc you do a ton better than the lets run and spray and pray types.
objective base games work well on basic area security aka watching your zone more or less.
moh imho is nicer since it has destroyable barriers vs cod. this means that wooden pallet or boarded up window can be shot through or destroyed to gain access to enemy fighters or cover. vs stopping bullets like cod. it also has bullet drop ....so you can not use your pistol for straight line 600 yard kills like other games stupid junk.

like paintball/airsoft it has some things smart people can use to maintain/practice certain things but it isnt s substitute for field team work.
