  • Syria Has No Internets

This happened yesterday, and has happened before. One alternate method of communicating is ham radio. This site: http://signal-monitoring.blogspot.fr...emergency.html has information about frequencies Syrians are suggested to use. My propagation tool suggests that a Syrian station transmitting 100 watts using Single Side Band and a dipole antenna at 10m has a poor chance of communicating with the southeast US, but the best chance is on the 21MHZ band (15m) in the afternoon (here) 18:00-22:00 UTC.
    Just an FYI.
If anything, you should be able to hear any European stations working the Syrians.

Very interesting for our purposes however the last thing I want is to talk to, listen to or ever see anything from "over there" again. The next bunch will be no different from this bunch.
I didnt think that daytime was the best for signal bouncing/skips etc

And now the hackers are reporting some internet connectivity is returning, and the picture isn't pretty. Last year when this happened, there were reports of genocide in villages and the same picture is emerging. The death toll in this country is reported by the UN as over 70,000. Something to think/pray about.

Depends on the frequency.Low frequencies need night time, higher frequencies need sunshine to work.
