i was considering my food needs for another thread, and considering what family members are doing.....
2 different groups of relatives came to mind, and neither will discuss preparedness or survival as we do..
BUT>..
the texans,
2 cousins ( brothers) moved to texas from ga. then their mother moved to be near them. another sister and husband, both police officers, have bought a house and preparing to move. another sister is a nurse, is strongly considering the texas move... they say, something on the order of "the worlds getting crazy. it just seems like it would be good if we all lived near each other." hmm. the brothers have grown children.... and were discussing their weaponry when we last met... maybe they are more into prepping than i realized... lol
the tenns,
uncle lives on a hillside on in tenn. everyone in area has small homesteads with a few horses or cows, and a garden and a barn or two and a tractor! one child is architect and has built house nearby on same road. another child is veternarian and has bought house and land across the valley on same road. another child is retired military with specific skills, preparing to move home. they don't use our vocabulary, but i saw a stack of white buckets in one basement. and buried fuel tanks.. when i commented, i was told, well you never know when you might need extra food. and well, it's harder for your fuel to be stolen, if the tank is out of sight.
uncle wouldn't discuss, surv and prep. but smiling he took me to his basement. he has a small "cave" under the house... and when i asked he said... you know we live too close to that nuclear facility. i trained all the children what to do when they were little...
the bottom line of these two examples are that folks are forming up and hunkering down. in a quiet, but clearly determined manner... i'm just guessing it is happening in your family also..
think about it? they aren't members here, or at other survivalist websites. have you got an example, you'd care to share?
it is encouraging...
