    Feel sorry for those he left behind but if this plays out as I suspect it's just a case of Darwinism being played out.

      sorry but if you don't test your gear before shtf for you then this could be you. my heart goes out to his family
      Whats the point of having and not knowing how to use? You dont have a car and not know how to drive it do you? Having the tools for the job is worthless with out the knowledge of how to use it!

        Why do people think that just because they buy some gear they can head to the woods and do this without any skills. Gear is pretty useless without skills.
        I've been down in that country and it's pretty rough going.
        Hope there is a good outcome for his families sake.
        Survival question. What do I need most, right now?

          Well found out some more. The kid was going there to live and follow a hallucinogenic south american religion. Its just the gene pool trying to cleanse itself

            Kind of like all the new gun owners who think that since they own it they're "good". If you don't prepare and test your gear when it's easy, YOU will fail when the going gets tough. Seen it so many times it's stupid. "Hey Sarge, look at this HSLD vest I've got". Week later, "Hey Sarge , I um, need to get your spare vest". :mad:
