I'll be teaching a free pistol class at the Georgia Preppers Network campout this Friday from approx. 1pm till 5pm.
Details are here-
It won't be anything crazy or "hardcore" etc. and it will be setup wherein the new or newer shooter will be able to excel quickly in what we are doing. So don't let any pre conceived notions stop you from learning.
Hopefully their is some sort of target holders/stands there, If not hopefully someone closer can bring a few. I'll bring targets, staples, etc. Before anyone asks or assumes, their will be no charge for anything.
You'll need to bring- a pistol preferably a semi auto, at least 3 magazines (arrive with one DRY (unloaded) for dry work, ear and eye pro, decent holster (that means if possible one made for your specific gun versus a floppy fit 8 different sizes Uncle Mikes type. They can be dangerous.) , IF you have a "red gun" (fake training pistol) or an airsoft to do dry work with bring it. You'll need at least 200 rounds of ammo for your pistol, if you want to shoot more, definitely bring more, 200 rounds is only about 12 magazines full after all, but that's YOUR call. You'll be able to do a lot of this work DRY but it's important to get some live fire in also.
I have some extra ear and eye pro in my range box and half dozen or more red guns in my training bag but if you have a red gun specific to YOUR pistol by all means bring that for familiarity, aka "muscle memory" considerations.
Bring plenty of water, sunscreen and probably skeeter repellant would be handy, a hat, a folding camp chair is always nice. Figure we will shoot from about 1pm to 4-5'ish.
Thanks
Robert
I have met a few of the folks attending and some of them have come to the GA campout we hosted last November, overall a nice group of people. You may need to RSVP via their forums. The class is FREE.
