  • Breaking news - gun grabber bill dropped

Well, hate to admit it...But I was wrong. Reference this post:

    With this article:

And I'm wrong. While an Amendment is still expected to be introduced and I feel this is far from over, this is still a mark in the Dubya (not the Pres) column for us!

Little Heinz 57 for my crow please...after I get done doing the Snoopy Dance.

    And an addendum...

Look for far more federal pushing at State levels like we saw in Colorado. While many States have not pushed this to the front of the agenda, there are still some wavering out there and I figure Uncle Joe will make more "ski trips" and the wannbe king will make more "golf trips" while phone calls are made and emails exchanged. And Bloomberg's money man shows up with "campaign donations."

If ya gotta be wrong...THIS is the place for it!!! I'll be doing a spastic scarecrow dance to match (can't dance worth a darn LOL).

I'm waiting for the Feds to raise taxes on guns/ammo, though.

Okay, now that I got done doing the Snoopy Dance through my yard (and the inevitable police response asking pointedly why I was half clothed waving a Gadsden flag at traffic which in turn moved into the Mustache March Oklahoma Harlem Shake)...here's the details:

Assault Weapons Ban dropped which also included the magazine restrictions/ban.

Universal background checks are still on the table.

Mag restriction/ban can be/will be added as a separate amendment which has a better chance as a stand alone amendment rather than an all encompassing bill.

AWB can be voted on as a separate amendment though pundits say there is little chance of that passing.

Schumer's bill is still alive as well, mag restrictions in that one.

So while they aren't cutting off our arms, they can attempt to take a finger at a time. Which means more rounds of letter writing and emails into the Representatives and Senators stating complete objection to these Amendments. Don't give up now. We took a key hill top in this fight, but the war is far from over.

Looks like Magpul is packing up and beating feet out of Colorado.

I am glad this happened. Its just one small notch on the belt for the good guys. But, the UN gun stuff is going on this week and dont let that one slip in the back door.
You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?

I was glad to hear the news, but... then Feinstein stated how she would tack it onto another bill as an amendment. It sounds an awful lot like they will try something in the dark of the night, last minute thing with a bill that nobody will be looking at. If THAT isn't attempted, I'll borrow Grands Heinz57.

Washington is a center of "compromise".

We lose the hi caps, "win" on the assault weapons ban, they will gain more yardage and we will pat ourselves on the back and say "well it could have been worse."

Maybe that's just me, but that's a potential outcome I could see.

                  same here..imho.
                  like the 94' deal.
sure you can have your AK....as a single stack and thumb hole stocked..muzzle nutted variant for "sporting" reasons....then down the road a ban or restriction all together.
like grand said fingers 1str before the arm.
but all the pro 2a folks will jump with glee but over look the fact that the beast aint dead yet......

The beast is just "playing possum". It will use diversion and deception to get want it wants. Remember NDAA 2012 and that whole set of events.
