  • Day of Resistance

Tomorrow is the "Day of Resistance" rallies that are taking place across the land known as America. It is taking place on 2-23 (.223 Get it?).
Unfortunately, I'm not near an already organized event, but if I were, I would seriously consider going (If at least just for the joy of carrying a semi-auto in a semi safe public environment).

I however, must include my own personal caveat... That this is sort of thing is a bunch of BS. The 2nd amendment is not what gives me an "inalienable right." I don't even consider it to "guarantee" me my "right." A piece of paper is not what gives me my "rights."
In addition, if I take the common argument that "inalienable rights come from our creator" then what is some piece of paper doing clarifying or "guaranteeing" my "right?" Shouldn't my "right" be self-evident?
What this really boils down to is an authority issue. Who has authority for your life? Do you? Or is it some dudes that wrote on some piece of paper several hundred years ago? Or is it Prez Obama & Dianne Feinstein?

Anyway, check it out and see if any rallies are near your place of residence.

    You're right!
The original intent of the Bill of Rights was NOT to list or enumerate rights. The Bill of Rights grants nothing.
The Framers had already stated clearly that the Rights of the People existed before their documentation.

The Bill of Rights, as intended, enumerated certain restrictions on gov. power. It placed whole areas beyond the control of government - even going so far as to use language like "shall make no law", "shall not be violated", "shall not be construed", and of course "shall not be infringed".

OTOH, a nice open-carry get together is always fun... ;)
