Just in case you were wondering what States were considering what when it comes to legislation. Nice to see what some are doing in protecting the Rights of their citizens. Others...yeah, not so much.

Not to hijack my own thread, but I like the proposals some folks came up with to make New York City and Chicago their own city-states and stop dictating policies to the remainder of the States they happen to be in.Originally posted by JethroBodine View PostYeah like Illinois :mad:
Anyone want to give their representatives a poke to move that along?Experience is a cruel teacher, gives the exam first and then the lesson.

When I was growing up in South Florida 50+ years ago things were different.Originally posted by 1Admin View PostGA- Hell yeah, arm em all. Then all the damn yankees moved down and ruined the place. And for my Northern friends, a Yankee is a citizen of the north, a good person who may on occasion visit the south.
A damn yankee is one who visits and doesn't ever leave.

Well it has been a bees nest all around with new gun ban. Most the people still don't know what exactly has happened. The state gov went and passed these new laws and then put in the troopers lap to take care of it. Basically only 10 rds mags with only 7rds that is AW and Pistols. All AW must be registered with in the year. All ammo buys must have a background check. No Internet sales of any kind. Have to have your gun licence renewal every 5 years and must pass a mental evaluation.
Lots of talk about not registering anything even putting them in the ground bla bla. For my family we have been talking about moving some time and this the straw that broke our back. The only thing that turned out good is that our Sheriff came out against the law stating that the law makes all of us criminals and he will not obey any of the new laws because they are unconstitutional. I am taking my kids over tomorrow to say thanks for what he said but we are still thinking of moving.

Yeah it is for most people around here but I know 99.9% will just stay because we have lived here forever. I know I am going to wait until March and see what happens then with the UN small arms treaty. I mean if that passes and BO says yup I guess we all will be facing the same thing. So if that is the fact I am better to stay right here and deal with what ever comes. Now with that being said I don't know everything about the small arms treaty but what I have gotten from it Its going to effect us all. So if someone knows the deal with it or a thread that was started about please advise me. Would be a great help.

A damn yankee is one who visits and doesn't ever leave. then decides the locals are too stupid to run their own city/county/state and decides they must run for office to save us from ourselves.

Its a tough situation. My family has been bugging me about moving out of Illinois for some time. It's just not that easy once you get entrenched with a home, business etc. You have to be able to sell all you have, and then have enough proceeds to start all over again somewhere else. On top of that the worse it gets (gun control, etc) the harder it will be to sell. Who wants to move in and take your place in these crappy states?Originally posted by antishot View PostYeah it is for most people around here but I know 99.9% will just stay because we have lived here forever. Well, we now know where Colorado stands...
http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_22613895/colorado-house-debate-gun-bills-again-but-limitedColorado House approves all four gun-control measures
The bills again are:
• House Bill 1229 requiring background checks for all gun transactions;
• House Bill 1226 banning concealed weapons on campuses;
• House Bill 1228 instituting a fee for gun buyers to cover the cost of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation to perform background checks; and
• House Bill 1224 limiting magazines to 15 rounds.
I used to think Colorado might have been a great place to retire to. The liberal attitudes were pretty much restricted to Boulder and Denver. But now I see the representatives up there just don't care about losing jobs since Magpul has claimed it's pulling up stakes, losing life since no magazine ban had ever proven useful in preventing crime and losing protection for college students since obviously rape and assault never happens on a college campus.
It's a sad day from the Colorado I wrote about not so long ago. And this is a wake up call for the rest of us. Say it can't happen in your State, then go back and read that article once again. It can happen anywhere. Write your legislative representatives (if they can even be called that anymore) call your Congressmen and women, email your Governor. Let them all know where you stand. And draw the line.
**** just got real folks, it's expected in New York or California, but Colorado is the real deal that it can happen anywhere.Experience is a cruel teacher, gives the exam first and then the lesson.
