Typically we aren't painted in a good light as it is, even with disasters like Katrina, Sandy, the NE Blackouts, etc proving the value of preparing otherwise.

Just another sad example of the mass media trying to portray anything they don't like in a negative manner.
Experience is a cruel teacher, gives the exam first and then the lesson.

Primarily for ratings and sucking up to their left-wing viewers.

One last time- if you are going around telling people in your local community, at your work, at your SCHOOL, at your church, etc. that you are a "prepper" you are probably going to deeply regret that one day....

This new crowd has totally disregarded OPSEC and some have willfully made fun of the concept. They are going to regret it one day, hopefully later than sooner....
Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

Absolutely. I have had several people (that I only know casually) that they are preppers. And I just tend to think, "not a very good one!" and smile and keep my mouth shut!

There was a podcast a couple of weeks ago, part of the group series if I remember correctly, where you talked about taking into account other people's 'baggage',

Something most ‘preppers’ seem completely oblivious to....
‘What we have to do is convince people how normal and sensible we are…’

but where does that leave the other person?

You’re basically standing there and un-picking their entire way of life… telling them they're feckless, unable to protect and provide for their family when it counts, of course they’re going to go on the offensive.

....and the more the 'prepper' tries desperately to convince them he’s ‘normal’,'Just taking sensible precautions' the more the more aggravated they become
and the more aggravated they become……

Sometimes I feel like America is destined for civil war. The election map would make good battle lines. Basically there is a huge rift between the way Middle America and the coasts think and operate. Lately, all the legislation, media and big city mentality comes from the coast areas, and they keep ramming it down the throats of Middle America. Sooner or later they will have had enough. It’s going to be bad for guys like me, conservatives behind the lines.

I recently became a NRA certified instructor for basic pistol. My NRA training counselor was very out spoken about prepping and would discuss it openly with the other two students. I just gave him "you are crazy!" looks. not because he was crazy of course, but crazy for just openly talking about it with people he didn't know.

and yes they are going to pay for it badly. I expect to see "raids" on these outspoken preppers soon. that mouthy idiot Sarti already lost his guns for making stupid statements in front of his doctor.
