Looks like the 20 year old guy had mental issues and I bet 100% that he is on all kinds of psychotropic drugs... Psych docs prescribe those drugs like candy.

I will be really surprised if this event doesn't bring about major gun legislation... I think we have now seen the tipping point for most Americans. Not saying it is right, just stating what I think will happen...

This is an awful tragedy. There have been more and more of these kinds of things happening. Seems to me that every time somebody legalizes gay marriage or votes to take God out of the schools and Pledge of Allegiance the devil moves in just a little farther. I guess that's what happens when you take God out of everything though. This country of ours is already in the pot, and there's a flush coming, just a matter of when now.

Our leadership is poor. And if you pay attention to times, it was not but a couple of minutes that Msnbc.com was running a story about gun control in our country. I mean the local police couldn't have even finished the active shooter search. The damned political agenda is bloodthirsty and could care less about the actually families of the victims and the victims. Just another shooting and another example of why they think they should outlaw firearms. It has been proven that this does not help, the drug cartel runs Mexico. In fact I personally know three people in this past year who were kidnapped for a week and then found dead shot to death. Bullets equals guns. In mexico. Wait they are outlawed aren't they? How are they shooting people then? There was not a single gun used in 9/11. Not a single gun used in OKC bombing. I tell you something else, if guns kill people then all the ones I have must be faulty bc they have not killed anybody so far. Most of all I am just disgraced that our government and media would use something like this for an agenda. What happened is bad, no doubt, but how we handle it is what defines us. Epic fail in my book.

Okay, they didn't die, but it wasn't for lack of effort on the part of the attacker. I watched a bit of Fox today, and Mike Huckabee was on and said essentially that it wasn't the gun's fault, it was the idiot behind the gun. He went on to say that if you take God out of the school, you're going to end up bringing Him in the back side. Add to that, the jerk wore body armor. I guess he was afraid of one of those Kindergartner's coming at him with a pair of those round-nosed scissors, huh?

This kind of Bravo Sierra used to happen in Israel all the time. Hamas would target schools. Then the teachers started packing. It wasn't until very recently that cowards tried to attack a school, with knives. The teachers blew em away. I think that if every school had a sign on the front door that said something to the effect "Any number of the faculty, may be armed and ready to shoot perp's that attempt to harm any student" it may deter some of the looneys.

Incidently a new report was released today that stated that gun violence in the country is down again this year. A steady decline for a long time.

I just dont get it. The only thing ever bothered me in all my careers was the kids and still haunts me today. I have prayed for them all because everyone touched will be changed and that aint right, we aint supposed to have this, dunno. This stuff here is why i do what i do

I cried as well. Then the anger came. I can't imagine what those parents are going through. I've come to the conclusion that people that do things like this have to be possessed with evil. It's just not humanly possible for someone to do something like this. As soon as I got home from work I hugged my kids. Hug your kids folks, it's not the world we grew up in.

A rational approach to the problem. If a CCW came with a teacher's certificate, there would be a lot less of this nonsense going on. As it is, any time some A-hole wants to make a name for himself, all he has to do is shoot up a school, and they pick them because they know they're not armed. When's the last time you heard of some idiot shooting up a police station? I wish to H*LL somebody would explain to Mr. Brady that the bad guys check to make sure there aren't any cops around before they do what they do. The other thing that would help would be legislation forbidding the media from stating the name of the perp when something like this happens. The idiots know it's going to make them infamous. Take that away, and you take away their motivation, at least for some. In this situation, any bit is a good thing. The other thing is like a previous poster said. Start regulating psychotropic drugs. They're dangerous, they know they're dangerous, but they still keep handing them out like candy.

Our hearts also go out to the families and friends of the families of the people in that town. I'm peeved at the mom. She knew her boy had a mental health problem, she knew he was anti social, she knew he had many problems. Why in the he** didn't she have those weapons locked up in a safe? If she wanted a gun out on her nightstand for protection with a boy with mental health problems in the house, lock her bedroom door. One damn key would have made the difference between this horror and none of us ever having anything to talk about in that Conneticutt school.
