A quick poll. Who thinks that we may have about 24 days til something catastrophic or at least life changing happens .... Mayans?

I dought, whatever it is, that is coming on that date! I believe the Bible says no one shall know the date.

"Mis-information" is a powerful tool, if the sheeple half believe that something could happen and then nothing happens they are less likely prep for the next possible problem.

      The S is H-ing the F.

I believe we may be smack dab in the middle of SHTF!

There may not be the "catastrophic" event for which everyone seems to be planning. I'm not saying there won't be one (or more), but I would hate to see people become the proverbial frogs in the pot of water either.

I think it can be very easy to focus on the near term and lose perspective on the long term.

Don't think much of anything is going to happen for the 21st of December. The only thing may be that people start to get a little more crazy like they did with Y2K. Hard to say if not impossible on when things may deteriorate to the point the majority of us are preparing for. Definately Christmas shopping will be all done by then just to not have to put up with the last minute shoppers for whatever they are buying. It will be interesting to see if the grocerie shelves empty out of basics. Unfortunately it looks that way.

There was also another guy from Bosnia (I think) that had a good life lessons from living within a civial war zone that I would love to read more about. But I have lost his name/handle.

I see Economic Collapse and/or Civial War as the U.S.'s two most likely SHTF events we face as a whole. And having an "insiders" view point of those type events seems to give me hope that you can make it out and what types of problems to expect.

I agree with you. It's not the Myans or their calendar I'm fearing or watching. (unless there is a Myan in D.C.)

The only life changing event is you will have an awakening on Dec 22 that you were dumb enough to believe something was going to happen the day before.
I am pretty sure if a bird falls out of the sky or a very small earthquake it will be all over the news.

Nothing is going to happen even remotely close to all of the expert predictions. Get your Christmas shopping completed and go take a nice stroll in the woods and enjoy your family.

If something does happen, make sure you are wearing two sets of drawls.

thers been twoi i think from that area. one was about day to day life and what was used, what wasnt, and how snipers were an issue, the second which popped back up year or two back was more of a list of things that went bye bye real fast.

which i found funny because this one fellow from another country claimed 90% of what was listed (tp,tools, food, gas etc) would be easy to buy during a shtf event, yet the bosnian author said they went like wild fire...then again, some feel 24 hours with out power or a house maid is a shtf world ending event, while others live in a war zone and can think nothing of it/or give it a second thought...

a simple goggle search will turn up the bosniain article/blog

Yes, the sky will fall... The Mayans, a human sacrificing, demon-embracing, race would not be wrong... I mean, their gods would not lie, right?

24 days....24 hours......24 minutes........24 weeks.......24 months.....something will happen. There is just no way around it at this point.

Prep and train as fast and as hard as you can, then.......when it does happen. Kick back, relax, and enjoy the show!!

Not sure "relax and enjoy the show" is what I expect but I will know that I am now part of the 1%.

Cant say I like to be so flip about it but the fact is, you may as well just accept the ride and be ready when boots hit the ground.
I am sure many of you, as I, have been beating the skills and prep drum for a long time. We have been laughed at, ridiculed, and been the base of some pretty nasty "humor". At this point I am at the acceptance phase. I have totally accepted the fact that something will happen. Dont know what or when but it wont be good. So, all I can do now is sit in a bean bag chair with a tasty beverage in my hand and watch everything play out.
