Hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving.

May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey be plump
May your potatoes and gravy have nary a lump
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize
And may your Thanksgiving dinner stay off your thighs

Now back to the form if you could plant only one crop for bad times what would it be?
Have mine narrowed to 3 okra, squash, beans.

One crop... squash or beans. They both keep longer than okra. Squash can keep quite a while and beans you can dry.
So, unless you can can them... can you can okra? I dunno. But, if you can't you would have abundant food for a while.
