Very insightful thoughts Grand.

I'll add a few more that I see escalating...

1. Rapid increase of Drones flying over the USSA in order to better spy on people who don't fall in line.
2. Expansion of "The Kill List" which will start including more Americans (This goes along with rockriver's neighbor disapearing). Once again for not falling in line!
3. A BIG influx of Blue State voters coming into Red States, due to the fact that Obama's FEMA won't rebuild for all the poor people (Obama Phone People). This cause and effect will slowly turn Red States into Blue States due to their 12 plus welfare kids will be able to vote soon enough.
This is the same problem Houston is having now, with all the displaced Katrina victoms.

On election night as we watched the numbers coming in from various states I noticed how close the TX race was. I couldn't believe I was seeing BO get such a high percentage of the TX vote! Then a couple of days later I heard Beck say that southern TX is turning blue, mainly due to the influx of illegal immigrants. We're seeing a huge influx of illegals into Oklahoma and everywhere we go when we're in the big city there are mexicans who don't speak english. The eastern and southeastern part of the state is trending liberal. There's a larger percentage of low income folks in these parts of the state.

I don't think Iran and Israel getting into it is anything we want. We still have no idea how far down the Muslim Brotherhood, Arab Spring or any of the rest of the "popular" revolts go.

And frankly, I'm still of the tin foil hat mind they are all connected somehow. Israel is pretty much alone over there right now and we should be backing them with whatever they want and need. The only true and friendly democracy in the Middle East that actually likes us and we have an off again and on again relationship with them. Pathetic.

Continued media hype on gun violence that brings about a new gun control act, either through Congress or by Executive Order, probably in the next year to 18 months. Limit on types of weapons, bans "assault and military style" weapons and limits the number of rounds carried.

I'd say more likely 18-24 months some short of re-introduction of the assault weapons ban. I honestly believe they'll go the route of through congress, but if it fails, I suspect Obama will EO the decision, as he threatened to once already during his first term.

What concerns me, is after the CO shooting there has been a lot of interplay in the media with the use of terms such as "Semi-Auto" and pundits alike saying we don't need these "Semi-Automatic" weapons, interchangeably with "assault riffle". There has been discussion of banning semi-auto weapons, and that is troubling. And truth is, a vast majority of the general public doesn't have a clear understanding of the difference between, semi-automatic and fully-automatic.

The scary thing is, they might be able to convince the public, that we're not banning guns, just semi-automatics. Problem is, as anyone with a handgun knows, that's every modern day gun for the most part.

I'm also deeply troubled by the desire to ban online ammunition sales. But that's another subject.

In my own mind, the best way to avoid the total backlash would be to bleed us to death, taxing the tar out of bullets and legal red tape. How about if your bulk online Ammo purchase required you to transfer it to a FFL. Yeah, joy.

I think Chicago already brought up the idea of 11 cents per bullet tax. What if the feds decide to taxes bullets, and then the states decide they want a piece of the action as well.

Since the die has been cast on the individual mandate in the SCOTUS, continued government oversight and overstepping by dictating more items the public "must" have. Flex fuel/alternate fuel vehicles is one I can see becoming "mandatory" in industry to reduce carbon footprint. Maybe going as far as limiting cylinders on personal vehicles.

Forcing companies to build them isn't the same as mandating you and I purchase them. But what is to stop them from mandating we all get car insurance, or we all buy XYZ. And it could all be about, helping the economy. Although this is something I don't think we have to worry about.

Gas prices continue to increase in relation to flex/alternate fuels. Probably hitting $6-7 a gallon in two years which in turn forces the public to buy alternate fuel vehicles and/or more gas efficient vehicles.

They aren't rising in relation to, but rising because of devaluation of the US dollar.

Let me add to this, I'm expecting and positioning myself for 10% inflation thru 2013 followed by two years of 20%-30% inflation.

You and I, and I suspect most on this forum don't want it, but believe me, there are people in power who right now are promoting the idea that a war time economy is what we need, and the best war time economy in there mind is a World War, because it will allow them to erase all their losses and debt. All while enslaving us to more.

Yep...the way Oblama has been handling that relationship is appalling IMO. That is one country we MUST be aligned with. There is a memorial for the Jews in an outside mall near me that is filled with buttons, 1 button per life lost at the hands of the Nazis.

Just a note on the 'tipping point.' Was perusing some articles today and a little one, not in the main section, was talking about various states petitioning for secession. Granted, each petition was started by one citizen on whitehouse.gov, and granted this isn't coming from the actual state governments...but since it was started, Texas' petition is already halfway to the petition signatures required to send it forward for consideration. I don't know much about the process, as I haven't really read much more...but that in itself (whether it COULD happen or not) gets you to thinking. What happens if they do get serious with it and request secession and are denied? Is that the start of a second civil war? I've been more worried about internal issues than external attacks for a while now. Everybody is on edge and it seems like our country is pretty evenly divided at the moment....it could happen.
