Don't recall this happening in Katrina, but might have and not been reported. So lesson learned, don't trust anyone knocking on your front door after a disaster, even those that look "official."

Makes me glad we live where we do and in friendly gun country. Even in normal times folks need to be careful about opening the door to anyone without knowing who they are. I got a few looks at the gas station yesterday when I filled up 8-5 gallon gas cans of unleaded to add to our stock...not buckets here! LOL
