well tomorrow will be first day to legally open carry if your liscened. lot of co-workers are ready to gear up lol. i myself wont open carry all the time but however i was thinking that if i do decide to one day that it would be wise to have a good holster. So on that note i went and picked up a nice blackhawk holster with locking trigger lock. i already have a good kydex paddle holster that i use for shooting competively but for many reasons such as, bad guys easily able to pull gun out from behind or it falling out due to fight. what are your thought on locking holsters for carrying outside the waist????

When I lived in Colorado, it was legal to open carry without a license. I did that most of the time...had a locking OWB holster and it worked well for me. It had a snap lock and, with a little practice, it didn't slow me down that much. I preferred the lock because I was up in the mountains quite a bit. I didn't want the gun coming out of the holster should I fall."Common sense might be common but it is by no means wide spread." Mark Twain

The locking holster can still be retrieved easily from behind. Thumbreaks can be defeated from in front and behind. I really like the SERPA. There have been things reported such as fine gravel causing the mechanism to fail shut or discharges when jacket waistband pulls become lodged but overall its a good holster IMO.
Training for weapons retention is a must especially for open carry. Open carry should be done minimually IMO under certain conditions. No sense in tipping your hand or causing the badguys to go straight to fatal force if they know you are armed and in mind to take action on you.Knowledge is Power, Practiced Knowledge is Strength, Tested Knowledge is Confidence

Open carry in Ohio has always been legal BUT you used to be hasseled by law enforcement for it, now not so much.
I've had my CHL for almost 10 years but rarely open carry because I think carrying concealed gives you a tactical advantage. With open carry I don't have to worry about printing or my pistol showing accidentally.
