  • Alask: The Last Frontier --TV Show

Ok so I caught a re-run episode of the spring thaw...I actually think this show has the most real world home steading in it. They raise their own beef, chicken, and veggies. They hunt, fish, build stuff, cut down trees, and fix stuff. I think it shows how much work goes into living that life.

    Anyone else see it?

I did a quick search but couldn't find a thread on this show.

My wife and I really enjoy this show. I agree with you, it's the most realistic. I don't think it's rehearsed. If things do go bad, it'll just be another day for those folks. They should be proud.

I caught the last half of an episode. To me its a great look at how hard life could be both physically and mentally. I think that if this or any other program opens some eyes and plants a seed for people to think about what it would take to thrive on your own, thats great. The part that I watched , made me rethink about tools, lumber and construction.

They also use lots and lots of logs for heating and cooking. I get tired just thinking of how to get all that wood without a tractor.

Caught a few episodes the other night and was somewhat impressed. It's probably more prepper based than any other show I've seen thus far although they do like their heavy equipment lol.

Lots of good ideas and good training stuff on there believe it or not. Situation based in "what would I do"

I just don't know about that latch for the chicken coop....I think a bear would be able to get it open imo.
