There's a coronal hole rotating into view on the disk. sigh.
Here's an anecdote for you from last night: When I got home, the bars in this picture: http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/rt_plots/kp_3d.html had just made the first red bar of the second set of red bars. I tuned around some, heard signals, tried to contact people with me using 100 watts, tried to contact people with me using 1 watt. After about an hour of this, I was doing some experiments and measurements, and tried tuning around again. There was very little activity, and what was there sounded weak and like whoever was sending the signal was being bounced around inside a garbage can.
i did hear some low speed digital stuff going on in the digi freqs on 80m (round about 3.580 MHz) that I wish I could have decoded. I need to get an AFSK interface built for my fone, they have apps that will let you decode signals from your radio.
