Anyone from Alaska?

A member of my group is having to relocate to anchorage,Alaska for work for 2 years. He aint thrilled about it, but was wondering what the homeschooling, prepper landscape, etc. looks like there. I was looking at a couple of Prepper blogs/forums from up there and aside from some calling it "Los Anchorage" or a "suburb of Seattle" it seems like people there are, more of less, preppers due to the harshness of the climate. Just thought I would ask on here.

I no longer live in Anchorage. I lived there for eleven years. Most people are friendly, work hard, play hard, and don"t whine about their problems. They just suck it up and make it happen. Lots of home schoolers, lots of preppers, I found it a great place to work, live and raise a family.
