We all know about the riots in the middle east but what about this in China?

WiseOwl this argument goes back to the 1800's. Long story short, it really belongs to Taiwan but neither China or Japan recognize Taiwan as a sovereign state. For years China has been threatening to attack Taiwan to make it part of China and Japan simply ignores Taiwan's claim to the Diaoyu Islands. The protests you're seeing now in China have to do with oil being discovered on the islands in 1968. Not a big deal then but now with China's economy in trouble it IS a big deal now. Since Japan is controling the islands at present, China's protest is aimed at them. China's been eyeballing that oil in the Caspian sea to their west too but they don't want to tangle with the Muslims to get to it.
