    Imagine that! Someone actually standing up for themselves instead of having to rely on the police and letting more people get killed while waiting. Teaching folks to be sheepdogs instead of the lambs to the slaughter? So insane it might just work.

    TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Police have a new method for dealing with armed attackers who get inside school buildings in Tuscaloosa: They're teaching educators and students to fight back.

    School systems typically tell workers and students to lock every possible door and hide if an intruder enters a classroom building. But Tuscaloosa schools have started a program with city police in which employees and students are being trained to fight back if necessary.

    I mean, if schools want to enforce In Loco Parentis they has best be able to defend children under their care just like a parent would during a home invasion. And if that means repealing the insane school ground weapons laws so teachers can carry CCW, DO IT! I for one would rather have a teacher putting two in the chest and one in the head of some crazed lunatic shooting up a school than hiding in a corner hoping said lunatic goes the other way. You know, judged by 12 rather than watch half your classroom being carried by 72 while parents mourn and grieve over something that could have been avoided.

    Good on 'Bama and Tuscaloosa.

    Huh, they actually found teachers willing to fight? Good for them because even here in my state they are very liberal.

      That's an interesting link. I'm glad to see that a school system in a college town had enough sense to do this.

        It would be good if this attitude would spread, not only in the school system. My brother and sister-in-law (his wife) were grade school teachers, now retired. I have a hard time picturing either of them attacking an armed man.

          I'm pleasantly surprised too. Most public schools are liberal bastions turning out entitlement sheep who believe guns are bahahahahad.

            and the school will get sued if one of the children die in defense of other....which in my opinion is b.s we need to take back our coutry and maybe this is a step in trhe right direction
            I came into this world kicking and screaming while covered in someone elses blood. And have no problem with going out the same way
