A friend of mine...

is in the direct mail business. She showed me what she had on me, based off of buying habits, website visited, etc. She send out the mailer with the "Current Resident" name on the label, but she knows everything about you. She had stuff on there from years ago when I was doing a little scuba stuff, and I had "rented" some scuba tanks on my credit card, and so my interests included scuba diving. It was truly scary. If you are worried about what the gov might know about you, dont worry, everybody knows or has access to the infomation. Based off the last 6 years of "collecting" preps, the gov knows all about it. Probably down the number of rounds of .223 I have purchased. Sad but true, and that is why it is so important to BUGOUT to an unknown location, not in any family members name nor known associates. 1984 has arrived.

Wait til the drones start flying, and an honest conversation between friends about how dissatisified you are with the way the present regime is doing things might be being recorded, and some analyst (with an agenda) can put you in a straight jacket for a month, or longer.

The thing with this is that most people assume the govt actually cares about them. They don't. Why would they? Okay, they listen for the buzzwords, but other than that, unless you're running guns to a third world country, shipping in drugs by the boatload, or actively planning an overthrow, they don't care. They have limited assets, and have to use those assets to counter the actual threats to our country. Think about it. After Bush, every raghead in the world wants us dead, and are actively planning on how to make that happen. Then, you add in the rest of the whackos out there, and they've got their hands full with the real threats. Would they bother with some putz sitting in the middle of Missouri with a bunch of ammo and a couple of guns? I seriously doubt it. I'm not threat to them anyway. As a friend and fellow prepper says, I'm not planning on fighting the govt. I'm planning on trying to keep my neighbors out of my house when the wheels come off. As far as the govt. is concerned, they know where I live. I'm in the blasted phone book. Anytime they want me, they got me, and there's not a lot I can do about it, other than staying as far below the radar as possible. i.e. spend your time and worry on something that actually matters, and I seriously doubt that it's the fact that someone knows you took ballet lessons when you were ten and wants to sell you new ballet shoes. Yeah, they can annoy the hell out of you on the phone, but if that's the worst of my problems, I say bring it on. I can always hang up on sales calls, and always do.
