In response to an earlier post, this is what I'm talking about when I say I support the Militia. These guys are the real deal. None of that anti-government, anti-race or religion etc. that is most often associated with these groups. There seems to be a lot of the former, and they are the ones you hear about in the press. The new made for TV mini series Revolution protrays the Militia in a negitive light, based on the trailers I've seen. So I'm saying that there are other groups in the USA that take this business seriously. They are the one's that I support.

I don't belong to a Militia, other than by virtue of being a patriot. According to the Constitiution we are all automatically members of the Militia. I encourage anybody to check out the Idaho Light Foot group website.

LS i dont know where the Constitution says we are all automatically members. The Consitution does say some intersting things about them though
Article 1 Section 8 outlines the guidelines of establishing and discipline
Article 2 Section 2 details how the president is in charge of them
The Bill of Rights 2nd Amendment also deals with Militia and the right to keep and bear arms

(please check your State's law), all male citizens ages 18-45 years are members of the militia. According to
Anglo-Saxon Common Law, and the laws and customs of the American Colonies before our separation from
the British Empire, all males (and even females during an actual emergency) between the ages of 16 and 60
were considered members of the militia.
So the militia, like your God-given rights, existed before the United States government was formed. And as
such, you are already a member of the militia, by statute and by God-given right.

and prepare their citizens so that they can be ready for an emergency situation, then it's up to the people to
do it themselves, until such time as the legislature again resumes it's rightful duties.

Dont go by their website go by the CONSTITUTION ya know since they are supposedly Constitutionalist according to your previous postings. We are not talking about the pre law of the Anglo Saxon stuff the Soveriegn trouble makers always drum up we are talking about CURRENT real law. God given rights and the Militia, no where in the Bible, so thats made up. Now at the end of your paragraph you want to view it your way not the way it's written, why? State and Federal Governments do ask people to prepare but they cant force them look up Oklahoma Red Dirt Ready and on FEMA where they ask for 3 days of prepared. You betcha i teach my kids, I teach them all the lies and agendas of both sides!

What my original thought was, the way the media gets a hook into something, and thats the way they report it, and therefore that's the way it is. Anyone of us visiting this board would be labeled a kook by some of those media. "Those whacked out survivalists" I don't like to broad brush anybody for that matter, so thats where I was coming from. As far as suvivlaists, I think the Light Foot bunch would fit that label IMHO. One more thing though, how did you know that rabbit was taken out of season? In Idaho it goes from the end of August til the end of February.

Coeur D' Alene is in the bottleneck and judging by that picture taken with the woman holding the rabbit, those folks were in high elevation and likely dressed for summer. I know CD'A, Wilson, etc...get upwards of 700+ inches of snow a year and, like where I lived in CO, there was snow in the mountains around our town all year...then again, my speculation might be wrong and Matt may be drawing his conclusions another way.

I did enjoy the pics and the history of the group though. I'm guessing they aren't the only militia group up in those mountains. Some of the locals are scared to go up into their own mountains hiking, etc...because of fear of some of these groups. There are a lot of them that give the the true patriots a bad name.

Their goal isn't to be covert. They are comprised by retired LEO's, and Veterans. For instance, when forming their group, they invited the local sherrif to sit in and or join if he wished. A lot of people are immediately alarmed when the word "Militia" is used. The MSM has programed people to react that way. (Who controls the media?) People are often paranoid about things they don't understand.

There is a "legal" season and there is a Safe season to eat rabbit in. Many states have this issue.


Take a look at the picture above. If you are dressed like them kids then you are rolling the dice unless you are just having a warm spell after the first hard freeze. Also read the caption

I think its cool that folks are doing this. Are they only doing LEO/Military training stuff? Or are they organizing yard sales, or softball games or other events in the community that aren't just guns and camo? I think groups like this are good in a small community but they are going to get the scrutiny from the outsiders if all they are are some ex MIL/Leo's training and running around all night. Seems like they dont really care though and if their community feels safer and more prepared for uncertainty, more power to em. Or are they a bunch of folks that read Patriots and think they are having to keep the MBZ's out?

I know all of this hardcore training is cool. The lessons, the camaraderie, the knowledge, and hell its fun. But, live life. Watch a baseball game everyonce in a while. Go eat at mcDonalds. Watch Bravo to make fun of those idiots. Go see a movie. If nothing ever happens, you may be in shape with cool toys, but you will miss out on what all life has to offer.

I'm with ya WiseOwl. There's much to do to prepare our families for the worst that could happen but if you're going to let life pass you by then it's not worth it.
