we just put a few thousand miles on the vehicle.
lots of thinking/talking time but also an opportunity to review lots of different homesteads and structures.
example. a round masonry church open in the center. only one entry area.
it looked like it would be easy to defend.
many tall masonry towers... actually grain bins... we've discussed that before
off a dirt road i saw several poorly built houses and mobile homes.. but each was on large parcels of
land with lots of space... one was loaded with solar panels and numerous outbuildings.
homes/buildings on the side of a huge cliff -- practically impossible to approach from cliff side
and good field of view from the other.
homesites on the top of mesas (sp?) we don't have that geography in the Southeast.
flat land. then suddenly there is a large piece of land that is hundreds of feet above the flat land.
climbing that would be difficult, but the top is nice and flat for homestead/ defense.
one to 3 homes situated in the middle of several thousand acres. homes a half mile off the main road.
jealous of some you s.w. folks.
