I have been having troubles with all the police stories these days. I cant tell if society is getting worse or the PD is getting filled with corrupt members. i tend to think the problem is with society, and the police like any group will have good and bad members of society. Then i run into issues when i think cops did wrong and they keep their job, or are placed on paid leave for years. well this made no sense and quit while i can.

if the police (or anyone for that matter) shot someone near you would you (A) run out and throw things at them in protest? (B) Gather the kids and have an entertainment picnic in the yard because you gots rights and then be mad when you also get hurt? (C) stay out of sight and keep the family safe and out of any possible line of fire from either side?
Dunno if the police were right or wrong but the choices of others following leave alot to be desiredKnowledge is Power, Practiced Knowledge is Strength, Tested Knowledge is Confidence

Okie once again poses the right questions in the right way.ANAHEIM, California (Reuters) - Protesters broke windows of least a half-dozen storefronts in Anaheim on Tuesday and five people were arrested in the second major clash between police and demonstrators since an officer shot dead an apparently unarmed man.
Tom Tait, mayor of the southern California city, had called on Monday for a state and federal review of the shooting of the man, a suspected gang member.
Over 600 demonstrators gathered at City Hall on Tuesday, where officials were holding a regular meeting, police said.
Some threw patio chairs through the windows of a Starbucks, according to a Reuters witness. No one in the restaurant was injured, said Anaheim police spokesman Sergeant Bob Dunn.
I'm not going to moralize on the police and whether or not the use of deadly force was justified. The collective reaction is informative because we can use it to dispel myths some people have about gangs and gang reaction.
1. Gangs are ready for violence right now.
2. They don't need good aim to break windows.
3. They are unafraid of imposing their moral code on anyone.
4. They are already at war.
This is not a localized problem either:
Dallas news, headlines, weather, sports and traffic from KDFW FOX 4 News, serving Dallas-Fort Worth, North Texas and the state of Texas.
DALLAS - Police shot and killed a man in south Dallas on Tuesday, prompting a tense situation with hundreds of angry, emotional neighbors.
The shooting happened at about 5:30 p.m. at a known drug house in the 5300 block of Bourquin Street while, according to Dallas Police Chief David Brown, police were responding to a kidnapping call.
Brown said four suspects fled the house via various means, including by breaking windows. He said officers saw a gun on a table in the house and that crack cocaine was also present.
According to Brown, eight-year DPD veteran Officer Brian Rowden chased James Harper, fighting the suspect three times. Rowden was losing fight and was exhausted when, according to Brown, Harper said, "You're going to have to kill me."
Rowden feared for his life and fatally shot Harper, Brown said.
That's Dallas folks, it's in 'don't mess with Texas' Texas.
This can happen anywhere folks. And there is a pattern.

Very true. it seems to be a pattern for these pimps and drug dealers and gangs. Matt your right about the choices you give. at most i would cautiously look at the window if i saw group forming in protest. (ar in hand waiting to see if i need to defend my property.) We had a shooting here in Texas were a constable was serving a felony warrant, the criminal pops out of no where with something in his hand. cop acts fast and shoots the guy and he dies. well turns out it was a flashlight, but we all know a maglight can kill and people can cover distance VERY fast. anyways the pimps here are trying to start some crap over this. also got to love the different stories.
And for fun i want to add that the local race pimps have not been mentioned in any story so I'm guessing the felon was a cracker.
