Any validity to this? Someone was telling me about this the other day. Too much tinfoil or truth?
You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?

I've heard it's tinfoil but I've also seen it in the paper and on FOX news. I don't know how true it is. I think it's definately worth keeping our eyes on. I've also heard people say "it's just a ban on exports and imports to and from the US. Don't worry about it". Slippery slope if that's the truth. Again, thats all hearsay. I know I've got some "wants" not "needs" in the ol firearms category that have been bumped up in priority just in case.

Truth BUT the Senate would have to ratify whatever agreement is finally reached which IMO will not happen so it will be yet another UN treaty that is null and void. About once a year the UN does this as many countries simply do not want civilians to have weapons because of the way they run business and the NRA is all over it too

check your e-mail, i'm sedning you the NRA update

The NRA is running a 30min show on satalite about this and the gov in general trying to take our rights a way. It's not a bad watch.

It's true, and if not defeated, will be a major problem, and gateway to Federal gun registration. However, as Matt in Oklahoma said, it would have to be ratified in the Senate. I wrote to my Senator, Rubio, who responded saying that he was not in favor of it, and was encouraging other members to fight against it. I would say that it is worth at least launching an e-mail to your Senator. It is set to be ratified in the lame duck session of Congress. If it were to pass, the second amendment is all but toast.

Thank you for that. That small action leads right into something i'm fixing to post!

Been reading about this for some tme know. If passed by the un. will need to ratified by 67 senators, as of now not one republican senator will vote for it. Hopefully it stays this way and is defeated.

I'd write to my senators, but since they're both commie-pinko-liberals, it would be a waste of time... (In fact, I bet they probably would welcome more gun-control...)

Write to them anyway!! If you don't speak up, your voice will never be heard. Been writing mine for a while now on this.

Write them so they realize not everyone in there district thinks like they do. Next time they vote in a way you dislike look at who gives them money and write them. the pocket book is where most politicians act first.

I dunno maybe i got a different attitude which may be why i live here. I take great pleasure in telling them something and one of 2 things happens. 1 we agree to disagree and they continue in which i still sleep good at night knowing i did something and eventually they will be rooted out of there or 2, my favorite, we get into an argument and i use verbal judo and knowledge to stomp their guts out. They wont change with silence, they will flourish which is why we have the sap heads that we have now because all these great stand up good ole boy coffee shop keyboard ninjas refuse to do what is needed by a simple e-mail writing the exact same thing they write here and elsewhere. Last time i looked they were supposed to listen to us. They may not change or vote different but you wont know until you try. Heck there is nothing wrong wirth sending them an e-mail that says
" both my senators are commie-pinko-liberals who would gladly turn over American rights to the UN" and see what happens

All it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing. Live by it :-)

That is so true. Also you must remember the other side is a very "loud" and verbal bunch. Where our side is usually calm and quite. So the majority of what the law makers hear is "we need gun control", and "guns kill". Which we all know is the opposite of what we need. So what we need to start voicing our knewledge and the real facts. It is time to start being LOUD about it. Freedoms (all of them) are being taken at a record breaking pace and we should get vocal about all of them.

The 1st Addmendment works in conjuction with the 2nd Addmendment. With out using your 1st Addmendment you can easily loss your 2nd and Vise Versa...

And it requires a 2/3 majority for ratification. I looked up a letter sent to the WH from a collection of senators/representatives who opposed the action. Thankfully, my senator's name is on the list. Unfortuantely for him, I get riled up pretty regularly and write him. Most of the time he seems to be in agreement with me, and he always sends nice hand written notes - sometimes it takes a while, but I always get a personal reply.

All I ever got from the previous Senator (a Democrat) was form letters.
