Saw this on another site and thought i would share here.

I know some of you use Jerry Cans but for those of us that use the cheap stuff I'm ticked.

Blitz is facing 42 lawsuits -- most brought by the same three lawyers. Consumers have accused the company of making faulty cans that explode when used to pour gasoline onto fires.
I just can't wrap my head around how that is real.

Yeah I know, the first thing I do with a full gallon gas can i take it to an open fire and start pouring it out. Why don't these lawyers get there licenses revoked for stupid law suits?

OMG! Next they'll sue farmers because someone choked on a meat log they didn't chew! Farmer should've known they were producing a possible choking hazard

There is a sign at all of our pumps - dispensing gasoline into anything but approved containers is illegal - I don't know if this is universal but if approved containers cease to be... whats a redneckprepper to do?
I have 6 diesel and 5 gasoline so I'll be ok for awhile, but like the sixth gas can, holes get poked and cracks happen.

I say go back to jerry cans with safety spouts!!! I HATE the new safety and glug trickle spouts.

Which I find to be more unsafe than the older ones. That stupid little "put tube in and press down" spout thingy always, ALWAYS spills gas all over the motor of my lawnmower. Sucks is an adequate term I might use for it. I don't mind the slightly less older ones with the thumb release since I don't end up spilling gas with them.

Are the military cans and Euro surplus metal cans just not available at all anymore? Is this part of that Carb crap? I haven't needed to buy cans in a decade so excuse my ignorance :)

they are available but tend to sell out very quick. I buy the cheap blitz models just cause they are cheap. i keep just enough fuel to get me to the BOL, now that im finally getting a generator i might have to get some more in-case i need to bug in instead of out.

I was told by a guy at the hardware store that part of the reason for the new spouts was to reduce "Vapor escape" when you're pouring the gas..... more enviro-mumbo jumbo.

When temps go up in the barn my newer cans look like pumpkins, if I let it out when it gets cool they collapse, can't be good for the seams! Sooo saves a few fumes but puts a big ole 5 gallon sized chunck of plastic in the landfill or worse in the burn pile!
