The pipe would protect the illuminator, while their efforts to shoot it out would allow you to pinpoint their location.
    I'd like to see some details on "how to" and "where to get that". Sounds interesting

        Actually i found this on radioshack - http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2049723

        If you know how to use a soldering gun you can put in an LED...not that hard really...try youtube as wel...I am sure someone has done a how to vid...if not I can do one. I don't have nightvision so i won't be able to tell if it works.

          Yep, was kinda hoping someone would do or has done a "how to" and then show how well it worked. I can do it but would like to see it first. I've used the IR chemlights and know their limitations and strengths in both the Military and Law Enforcement and I have, I dunno, doubts maybe as to the effectiveness of the led especially in a semi lit environment. I can visualize the marker but not the illumination in my mind

            tell you what I will stop at radioshack and pick one up and try it out....i will see if my video camera will pick up the difference but no promises on my video camera :) working this way.

              Ok I picked up a High Output IR LED that I will try and put in my LED head lamp and we will see what happens....It might be tomorrow night before I get to actually putting it together.

                  Initial test works...I bought 1 IR Led and put it in a headlamp I have been messing with...not very bright...Will do video tomorrow night.

                    i am surprised at how long the cheap 3 dollar ones from walmart last, i have one at rear view mirror height under my carport after i broke the mirror in my passenger side mirror backing out late one night
