  • More Community stuff

I saw this web site listed on another forum. http://www.webpal.org/index.htm its titled the SAFE re-construction network. I know I'm not signing up for it, but it's an interesting concept. I just can't see myself giving out all that information.

I do see a need to have some type of community to help PAW. But I have a few like minded friends locally and have associations with the local Sherrif's Office and others.
It's a tricky subject and I have seen several approaches like LLC & other quasi-corporations set up to deal with group assets, but haven't seen one work well.

For myself I will prepare for my family while keeping 'in-touch' with other like minded friends that I know I can call on for mutual support when necessary.
Survival question. What do I need most, right now?

I talked (internet) to that feller or someone in his group several years ago. We have different ideas on OPSEC for sure. He was on one of them shows recently too. He truley wants to help and believes in what he does and for that I can not fault him however again OPSEC

I think his heart is in the right place. I can't see myself signing up for this on the internet. I can see some value to knowing folks in the local area. I can really see the advantage of getting a group together prior to any event, but I'm not there yet.

I have mentioned in a couple of post about out Local Homemakers Club, it is i group of womwn who get together for a monthly meal and to lay out plans for helping our community or part of the county with different issues.

They have a yearly trash pickup, plan parts of and support the county fair, share gardening ideas....... It is a great way to "get to know" each of the families involved. The men enjoy the food and discuss a variety of topics while the women meet, we also keep the kids corralled.

There are many other groups one can be involved in and NOT Sacrifice OPSEC and still get to know the mindset of those around. a couple of suggestions,,, 4-H volunteer or council member, Fairboard, Farm Bureau, Co-Ops, many of these are once a month meetings that over time will let you know "whats up" with the members/groups and in your community.
Do the right thing, because it is the right thing to do!
