Today is not for me Today is for them that didnt get to come home Today is for those we believe we left behind but in truth went on the advanced party to recon for us.

I know way too many on here http://www.fallenheroesmemorial.com/ and way too many who's names are on other memorials and some who were not given that honor for the missions were not considered important or to be told.

Tough day today, take a moment to honor them please

Every Time I see a vet, weather its marked on their vehicle, hat/clothing or at events. I try to go up to them and shake their hand and thank them, and their family for their sacrifice... If situation is appropriate. For those in the given situation I will buy them a drink or lunch if allowed to especially at a VFW post.
Thank you all...Family, Friends,People here on this board, and every man and woman who served this country...God Bless!

          matt, other servicemen
thank you and others for your service..
this year more than any before that i can remember, many vets have emphasized to me
that this is a time to remember those who gave everything.

Lord, bless these men and women and their families and friends.
          we honor them.
to give ones life for another, for their families back home.
          what greater gift.

Ever since I was a kid and learned what Memorial Day truly meant, this day has meant a lot to me. I personally don't know anyone that perished in combat. I had a real good buddy take his own life after returning from Iraq. I think about him on days like this.
I thank and remember everyone that was lost fighting for our freedom.

I especially Thank the Greatest Generation.

As Matt said today isn't for me but I'll accept your thanks for those who are no longer able to. Thank you to all of those who have made it able for Us to celebrate a day in their memory.

I understand where Matt and EX121 are coming from, Memorial Day those who gave the ultimate.

However, My families freedom and comfort is built upon their actions and the actions of those of you who were skilled, lucky or sheilded enough to return to the land and people you fought for.

My family THANKS YOU and all who protected us while we slept secure.
