  • Another thing to ponder-Airplanes and Gravity

    Flight paths.

If you are one of these Discovery Channel guys and you think an EMP or Solar Flare from the Mayan Sun God is going to take us out I have a noodle scratcher for ya.

I used to live SE of Hartsfield MeccAtlanta Airport and I was directly under a flight path of incoming flights. The closer you got to the other end of the county, the lower they were and more frequent.

We all have the bug out kits and extra shoes in the car, or we have our electronics hidden in trash cans and microwaves for the impending EMP.

But, are you in a flight path to were if one ever does happen, you have to worry about a freakin 747 tumbling into your living room?

I know its one of those "getting struck by lightning" type of odds here but I thought about this today. I honestly think Bigfoot is going to do the Cupid Shuffle in my backyard before this happens but it adds to the list of possibles.

    Thoughts?

      Damn I forgot about elevators.

Yeah Nuke plants are a wholllllllle nother ballgame.

And I thought satellites just stay in orbit, are they actually powered to keep them on a path? I dont know much about outer space even though I went there frequently as a teenager. :)

3 things in life that are certain: Death, taxes and gravity.

I have been looking up some info on satellites and man, there are a ton! And not to mention the space station.

I have this app on my iPhone called 3D sun. It alerts me everytime there is a flare. Seems like there has been an increase in these lately. Non are X-Class but still, they are pretty big. And sometimes it gives the option to listen to these.
Can you guys on the HAM's really hear this stuff? If so, thats pretty cool.

Needless to say, Gravity is going to be an instant dose of FUBAR when the power goes out.

You could have the super shelter with all the preps in the world and one Cessna will put you out of business.

thats why you need force multipliers (friends, family, group) that are onboard and would take you in if you lost eveything for the skills, work ethic, manpower and knowledge you would bring and it also is something that needs to be planned for in the amount of preps as well. It's not enough to have the 4 people for x number of months because that can quickly be cut in half with one bad incident. There will be many bad incidents

Military jets are hardened against EMP, as are some commercial jets. However, living near Atlanta would be a total nightmare should an EMP happen. As for landing in your living room, considering the air traffic controllers issues, that could happen anyway.
