it's hard to know where to put money if you are leaving a bank
    we shifted some assets to
    fishing line
    fish hooks
    fishing weights,
    chicken food
    over the weekend.

Ya know on second thought, I'm just not that much into exploding things anymore....unless it's the enemy of course. Think I'll stick with the 5 gallon gas cans and store them in the storage building on the far side of the property. Thanks for the heads up Lowdown3.

        Yes and no...

The explosive power of the gas is something that's hard to quantify. It can explode, but only when mixed into air prior to (like a fuel air explosive). Otherwise, it doesn't really "explode" in the conventional sense. The fumes explode when ignited, but the gasoline itself just burns. What you see in a gas "explosion" is the fumes (or the mist), but the remainder of the liquid gas just typically burns off.

The 55 gallon drums typically need a catalyst to "explode." But living in GA as you are, it typically would get heated up and under some pressure which would make the "explosion" worse off. Of course, more gas, more fumes, bigger bang so to speak, so more of a threat if in close proximity to your abode. But honestly no better or worse than having 10 five gallon cans sitting right on top of one another when it comes down to it.

Well the 5 gallon cans I would can store in the storage building away from the house. The barrels would have to go in the garage for easy access with a manual pump unless I want to fill 5 gallon buckets and to the car. Have to think about that one.
