Figured someone would start something on this but maybe not. So here goes the elephant in the room and me with diareah of the mouth as usual:

First off glad he's done and done for. The taking of innocent lives sickens me, get a divorce, move, dont call, not kill them, idiot. He doesnt deserve the term "survivalist" because he did everything contrary to what it means. There was no protecting his family, there was no longing to live thru a bad situation, there was only selfishness and thuggery. In his neck sideways

Now that I have relieved myself of any blood pressure or ulcer issues:
The main thing that stuck out to me was the short number of hours it took to pinpoint his "bunker" and how little it took to get in there. I'm glad LEOs were able to trap him and shut him down before he hurt anyone else but you spent 8yrs making a bunker and stockpiles to leave a map with pictures and all but put a giant red X on it, seriously?

My thoughts exactly Matt, I cannot condone the killing of anyone unless it's for self preservation, Thankfully the laws in Montana feel the same. This guy put a lot of effort into his hidy hole and then blew it by commiting these crimes and leaving all those tell tails.

The articles I read didn't even really talk about his victims. Prayers for the families involved.

All I seemed to see we're "journalists" talking about someone who was a prepper. They even mentioned the shows on tv. They kept on mentioning his gas masks, arsenal of weapons, large caliber rifles etc. Get ready for the fallout. I'm sure gas masks will be outlawed next, then bunkers and "large caliber" rifles.

I find it very interesting that on Monday the police were looking for him to talk with him about the "murders" and by WEdnesday they had a warrant for his arrest FOR the murders, but nowhere have I read of any evidence showing he actually did the killings or even if he was at the home when they happened!! It is curious to me that on ALL the prepping/survivalists forums everybody is taking the MSN reports as gospel and have decided the man was guilty of murder with NO EVIDENCE being presented to document that fact. HOw come all of a sudden MSN is believable and what they say is true? What happened to innocent until PROVEN guilty? As far as I can tell the man did not even fire 1 shot at any of the police surrounding his "bunker" nor is there any reports anywhere if the police even trying to negotiate him out of the bunker. I really do not think this is any kind of example of justice at all really just an example of vigilante justice under the guise of legality. JMO.

I dont listen to MSN I am not on an other boards and have no idea what they are saying. Yes there was a negotiator brought in, per SOP, however contact was not established because he killed himself once realizing he was surrounded and had holed himself into a corner. This is very common and usually they result in murder- suicides when they are this fargone mentally however due to this mans so called survivalist mindset he thought in his mind that he could just run to his hidey hole and live away from all those issues. His misguided ideas of grandure in his bunker were soon realized once he was quickly located and surrounded. Yes when you find a dead woman and a child and the only other person in the house is missing you would like to talk to them and in 2 days you can piece together a case based on evidence so they then were able to show the evidence to a judge and get a warrant.
This is not a tinfoil dislike of LEOs case to be made into "ohh they are all coming to get us".

NOT "bashing" the LEO's, Matt, I'm from a 3 generation LEO family myself and married one also. I am questioning the "justice" system itself.

I too am glad they got him. I've been out of touch for a while, but it appears as if he didn't practice very good security. From leaving photos that could be tirangulated to peope in the vicinity recognizing his truck from the trailhead.
Survival question. What do I need most, right now?

                  seem harsh?
scrape up a kid or 2 or worse when you dont know how many it was you just bagged, make a few house calls and tell parents they outlived their kids cause of some selfish scumbags actions, sit in a room during a rape kit on both sexes, listen to someone say what just happened will cause the 6yr old not to be able to live normally, do this for 20+yrs then take another comment at me
Think on this : Look at that beautiful young lady, his daughter he blew away, what she will never get to do, then go try and find someone, anyone to notify, sit with them for 3hrs at 2am trying to help them arrange a funeral and call other relatives, expalin why they cant have her right now for 'evidence" procedures, hear what they call you, dont file charges when they punch you thru teary eyes, then hold them again while they cry and go back to your family on 3hrs sleep for a birthday party and pretend it didnt happen and be all smiles
been there done that got the t shirt and wore it smooth out, meant what i said and stand by it, me and God have some long talks a comin for it i reckon but thats tween me and God

No, just surprised at the total and unequivocal lack of due process, and the associated lack of concern. He may be guilty as the day is long...or not. Chances are we'll never know the truth now.

I don't need to look at his wife and daughter. I have my own wife and stepdaughter that I'll never hold in this life again, thank you very much.

I don't envy your situation, or that of any law enforcement or EMT personnel - and further, I don't necessarily disagree with you. I was just in wonderment why all of the sudden everyone takes the MSM's word as the unadulterated truth?

                    ...that's all.

I dont have MSM as i explained in a previous posting. My info comes from elsewhere. Due process, they tried to get him to come in, he made his choice and he ended it hisway
you all want the evidence on a rapidly developing case then join the circus cause them peanuts aint free for the gallery
