This may have been said before, and I missed it, but I have been thinking this morning. A dangerous habit, indeed.

There are two historical events that precipitate major powergrabs. War and Depression. One of the biggest powergrabs in history took place during the Great Depression. Is it possible that the current state of the economy is either manufactured or at least encouraged in order for the socialists to make another major powergrab?

Could very well be so, gal, but for me it's one of those things/scenarios I can do nothing about, so I don't spend much time mulling about it. I do keep aware of situations such as that so as to be able to avoid getting caught short when/if it happens, but I really try to keep focused on the things I CAN do something about or effect directly by my personal efforts.

Agreed. I don't normally think like that, but I was cleaning house this morning and it just kinda came together. I wondered what everyone thought.

Or they could do something really sinister like get control of the public education system, then slowly over time dumb kids down and make the teachers teach wrong stuff- like America is a democracy instead of a constitutional republic. Then over a couple of generations when you mix in TV, bad parenting, a selfish and materialistic lifestyle, they could have it so messed up that they could just do these things to grab more control a little at a time. Forging a heavy chain link by link. With everyone weaned on TV, drugs they think they have to have to live, a materialistic lifestyle, keeping up with the retards oops I mean Joneses, etc. I bet very few would notice. They way they would handle those on the fringe that did notice is treat them as outcasts, treat any free thinker as an outcast. As a backup, they could develop diversions for those fringe people, talking heads on Fox news and radio that discuss the political situation but never seem to have real answers. Occasionally you'd throw them a bone on something relatively minor that made them think they were winning ground, turning back the clock, etc. But really you wouldn't care, cause few of them are educating their children correctly, so any tiny bits of ground took back will be easily stolen from the children that further don't know any better.

It seems to me we are at the beginning of another 'Dark Age'. Anyone thinking for themselves are to be silenced. History repeating.

We went to lunch yesterday with my brother and saw some old friends. We all talked about this and they were even realizing how messed up the education system was. They put their 7 year old in a private Christian school to get him away from the public brainwashing. My wife even told them about how public schools operate. She is in her LAST WEEK THANK GOD of student teaching. I know she will miss some of those kids but not the job.
I noticed the school system was messing up when I was in 9th/10 grade in History class. I have always been big on history. I used to question my teacher a lot on what they were teaching. At the time I thought it was just her but it was her curriculum. Now I look back and see what it really was. Same with English class.

Thats why me and my wife have decided our kids will NEVER set foot in a public school. We cant afford private, yet. So she is going homeschool them. I am not taking any chances with some gov agenda changing what we are developing.

Yes, the current economic state is manufactured in an effort for the real power brokers to gain yet more control over our governments and our lives as free individuals. Follow the money.

...also follow the idealism. We have a proven marxist in the White House who makes FDR, Teddy and Wilson look like beginners, which in hindsight, I guess they were....or perhaps forerunners...

What's even more sad is that we have a congress(both state and national/both republican and democrat)the majority of whom are either intentionally complicit in this massive corrupting of the constitution or they are politically and historically ignorant...all complicit non-the-less. This makes preparing for the worst-case scenario even more important as I believe the corruption is so massive that it is irreversible without civil unrest, at the very least.

kappydell I think we're going to see more manufactured "emergencies" as the year progresses. Each time the government will step in to "save" us but in reality gain just a bit more power with each "event".

Umm... kappydell,...do you realize that there are many awesome government employees right here? Many military active duty members as well as retired, law eforcement, etc. Most of them are honest hardworking folks. Lets show a bit of respect for them please, rather than lumping them all into one big group of liars.
As the saying goes, If you don't want to stand behind our troops (or law enforcement officers) please feel free to stand in front of them.
