This is pretty neat to see these pictures in such clarity. Probably the worst time ever in this young country. Too bad that this could happen again in the future if people dont get their damn heads out of their butts and focus on the solutions.

Still, these photos are cool. I love history and being able to see it is just great for me.

    Enjoy!

Thank you so much. I had the opportunity to vistit with a young man from Venezuela this evening. He told me stories of how his country is. He just got his citizenship. It made me proud to know that I still live in a country where people want to come. It also made me fear for the direction its headed. He told me how his grandfather had property taken away from him by the government for no other reason than they needed it. I am very scared for my children. I think they will see this here in their lifetime. I don't know if it was the fact that I visited with this guy today or the photos or what.... I'm not moved to tears often by photos alone. This country has earned it's freedom. Bought and paid for by the blood of patriots and tyrants. Slavery was a horrible, unspeakable atrocity. This country has paid for its mistakes. This is the greatest country the world has ever known. Not because of power, because of freedom. I'm sorry I got off on a babble there. Thanks again for the pics.

Growing up in GA, the Civil War is a part of growing up. In 8th Grade we had GA history as a class.
If you ever get to go to Atlanta, go to the Cyclorama at Zoo Atlanta. Pretty cool demonstration on the war.
Also, Oakland Cemetery. My friend has found a ton of artifacts there.

Kennesaw Mountain is another place rich in history.

I grew up near Jonesboro and a lot happened there.
Where I live now, there was a Confederate Hospital 1/2 through my woods on Main Street. There is one of those historical markers there. I wish I had a metal detector sometimes. My neighbor has found guns and bullets and cannonballs he said.

If any of you want to read a different side of the war check out this site:

I spent a lot of time on this site a couple of years ago and it made me proud to be a southerner and taught me the REAL REASON by the Civil War and the reason we lost. ( No offense to you "Yankees" on that) :)
