[quote]NASA to Visit Asteroid Predicted to Hit Earth?
There's a mountain-size asteroid on a potential collision course with Earth, and NASA has plans to pay it a visit.

The asteroid 1999 RQ36 made headlines last week with the announcement that the space rock could hit our planet in 2182. But a handful of scientists have had their eyes on this asteroid since 2007, planning a sample-return mission designed to help us better predict

I don't see the point in worrying about stuff like this. Asteroid strikes are low probability events. If we get hit, it might be really bad, but the net results will probably be similar to many of the other scenarios that could break our fragile society. The same preparations that can help you live through an EMP event or economic crash will help with a large meteor strike....unless you are killed in the initial event.

Worrying about a specific event is a sure way to reach burn-out. Prepping is an attitude and maybe a lifestyle that can get you ready for a whole range of events. I don't worry about specific events too much. Life goes on. I have some stored food, equipment and supplies and plans for how to use them. That allows me to live without worry or fear.

We could find ourselves in a catastrophe someday and if we do, hopefully we will have the skills and resources to survive it. It's wise to cover the basics, but if God chooses to drop a mountain on me, that's really out of my control.
