No acquittal now. The defense will present their case then ask for an acquittal based on the stand my ground law where the judge can decide to acquit or let it go to the jury. IMO there is no way the judge will make that ruling and accept that responsibility.
The immediate implications are that there are a few more days of testimony then it will go to the jury so probably looking at Friday or Monday before the rioting and looting party begin.
I don't know how things are in your area but they are quiet here and few seem to be paying attention as it takes them outside their comfort zone of music and fulfilling desires. What that means is that if there is a reaction then it will be delayed. They won't get wound up until they hear it from word of mouth or press instigation.

Okay,
Let me start by saying that I'm very familiar with Sanford. My wife grew up less than a half mile from the courthouse location, I grew up the next county over and I have my parents that live in the area. So, I know the roads, government and people in that area. I travel there often and see and hear what is happening. There are some websites that are streaming the trial. Two that I can think of is WESH T.V. and a radio station that's frequency is 104.5 WFLA. Do a web search for these and you should find them.

What I know right now from some LEOs and FFs that I know well is that many county ERTs are on standby and that they will be in position before the verdict is announced. There have been MANY cameras placed on the main roads leading to and around the courthouse before the trial began. The ERTs have been preparing for the possibilities. Several of these LEOs feel that "something" will happen, but think the ones that are in danger will be those in vehicles or on foot. They think that either ending to the trial, guilty or acquitted, could lead to trouble to some degree. A couple of these guys feel that Sanford will not be the only city to have "disturbances" as this will spread to many cities across the land, especially big cities with high populations of minorities and gangs. There have been many twitter feeds stating that whites will be targeted as well as GZ. The attorney for GZ has already had multiple threats on his life before the trial ever began. Everybody across this country needs to stay tuned to what is happening, even if you live in a small town. All it takes is a "troubled youth" to get a few of his friends riled up and who knows what could happen.

Watch your back as this trial nears the end. Talk with your family. Have plans made to defend yourself in your vehicle and home. Bug out if things goes sideways, but make sure you know choke points and have several routes to safety. And remember, safety may just be a few miles away or several hundred miles away. Take a couple sick days if needed.
