I have lost every ounce of respect I ever had for Angela Corey, and its more to do with what she said during the press conference than the actual charges.
Regarding the charges, for second degree they better have some serious freaking evidence that has been kept locked in a vault somewhere. If a jury finds Zimmerman not guilty, the backlash will be 100 times worse than if they had never charged him to begin with. I really fear someone is playing a dangerous game, and there will be bloodshed as a result.

Will be? There already has been! All this did is extend the fuse to the powderkeg, I fear. I think the only way a not guilty verdict works for peace is if the facts are laid out every day in the same way over and over again, just like how you teach a toddler her colors (been doing that lately at my house).

The near instantaneous information (propaganda) dissemination apparatus (heh, had to meet my big word quota for the day) that is modern media garauntees that preplanned positions are taken on issues that will mean life or death.

This is one dangerous man. A few things he has said lately, in a round about way, make me think he's thinking of either encouraging and/or supporting an assassination attempt on BO. He feels BO has either been co-opted by "the man" or has willingly gone to "the dark side"(or I guess in this case, the white side). Either way I can just see this happening and then you know all h_ _ _ will break loose unless Trevon's trial is over before this would happen.

Local news has been reporting all day about various cities having meetings about the "Stand Your Ground" law in FL. I haven't been able to track down a hard link to any just yet, just wanted everyone to be aware. One of the sound bites from the community (dis)organizer in charge of one of the meeting indicated that from the data he has seen, it would indicate that in a large number of cases where the law was applied, the victim (one shot) was a minority race, while the shooter was a majority race.
I'll let that statement stand on it's own, and will do due dillegence in finding an exact quote.
I think that I would expect to find that the situation where the shooter was majority and the shot minority would be "The Norm" based on the crime statistics involving minority on majority crime.
