Not to drag on about it but when I mentioned civil unrest or civil war I wasn't speaking of conventional or guerilla warfare. Lord knows nobody in his right mind would want to bring that on. I think what we will see are protests and riots that vastly eclipse what happened in the 60's. We're seeing the beginning of that now. That's not desirable but it would beat all out war which would put us back in the stone age. Hopefully qprat77 is right and one day we can sit back and laugh about how paranoid we were in the era of our white black President.

Oh my. April 9th "Day of Action". I can see the problems with that. Black patrols "practicing" county and state wide? Everybody in coastal states and large cities...there's plenty of room in Oklahoma! None of that craziness going on here...well maybe a bit in Tulsa.

In my defense, sometimes when I read what appears to be someone wishing for a fight it brings up an emotional response on my part. That is my problem, not yours. War affects everyone it touches, some more than others.
I once met a fellow vet and asked him "when were you in Vietnam?" His reply said it all - "I was there last night."
I can see by your follow up posts that I was wrong, and went off half cocked (again).

Years ago my sister had neighbors that lived in the apartment below her. The husband was a vietnam vet who often had nightmares and had a problem with sleepwalking and actually re-enacting some of what he went through. I don't imagine that the emotion caused by what you guys went through ever goes away.

this won't be "nothing". here is the situation as I see it. Right or not the blacks are riled up. This is rodney king all over again but in some ways its worse. I remember the rodney king days I was in high school at the time. They want a pound of flesh. it won't matter if its a rightous pound or not they want that pound.

they got all worked up and it turned out to be total BS. but that tension stayed. a few short years later Rodney King got whupped for fighting with the cops, the following year the cops were acquitted and a huge 3 day riot erupted in LA.

fast forward to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duke_lacrosse_case almost the exact same thing as Tawana Brawley again.

now fast forward to current events. instead of a beating, we have a corpse. we also have cell phones and internet and text messaging that 20 years ago didn't exist. the speed and power winch a single message can spread is incredible. Spike Lee tweeted a false address of George Zimmerman and the old couple that lived there had to flee. Imagine if that tweet said "%^* THIS BURN THIS ^%$#@#$%^& DOWN!"

Think about that for a minute. all over the country at the same time that appears on 250k angry peoples cell phones. try to wrap your head around that. and they know they can do this....because its been done in England and France. Remember last years "flash mobs" raiding walgreens and beating whites at 4th of july parties in Chicago? that's called dry runs folks. they saw the power of social media, cell phones, and instant txt messaging had. they were able to quickly organzie and assemble to commit a crime and split before anyone could do anything about it.

The way I see it here are the possible outcomes of this situation.

George Zimmerman gets indicted on something. They stay quietish until the end of the trial. if he:

1. gets convicted they will cheer and strut just like when OJ got off. Zimmerman gets killed in prison.
2. he gets acquitted and they riot. possibly and probably simultaneously all over the country. DOJ then goes after Zimmerman for civil riots violations and either:
3 gets convicted and then killed in prison or
4 walks again and its riot 2.0 again.

or

Zimmerman doesn't get indicted, and they riot, and he goes on trial for civil rights violations and:
1. if convicted gets killed in prizon
2. gets acquitted they riot.

They will get their pound of flesh. it will either be through rioting and killing or it will be Zimmerman going to jail and likely killing him there. Either way they will get that pound of flesh.

Now what does this mean for US? when I say us I mean prepared citizens. Well lets look at that adjective "Prepared".

All of us need to seriously very seriously look at how and what our plan is, if any, to deal with this type of a situation. Some of us live in the middle of nowhere's ville idaho will probably kick back and watch the Acton on CNN or Fox or both while having a brew.

Some of us live in suburban mostly white and hispanic areas.

Some of us live in very very close proximity to those who would be looking to get a pound of flesh.

Everyone here needs examine what their proximity to this threat is, what their level of preparedness is (BOV,BOL, Training,Fitness, Scope of responsibility (like are you a loner with an assault rifle or a family man with wife and kids) and formulate a plan for this and take the actions needed to implement that plan.

Take this threat very seriously folks because poop is already starting to happen. A white guy in SC was recently beaten and robbed outside an applebees by a small mob of blacks for being quote "a Tree Honky".

I agree, Spock. No one should let their guard down. Remain vigilant and be aware of your surroundings.
My wife could see bad times coming and pushed me to get my concealed firearm license. I hope I never have to use it, but haven't forgotten how to.

When I was trained as a deputy sheriff, I was taught that by FBI stats, we were more likely to be killed in the line of duty by a male between the ages of 14 and 22 than any other age group. No racial division was given , only age group and sex.

Having been a proffessional gun fighter, I seldom carry now unless i am going somewhere unfalmilar or potentually dangerous.

Given all the cercumstances that have come to light in the news, I would make a peliminary guess that Mr. Zimmerman was justified in useing deadly force to defend his life.

Eye witnesses state that Mr Martin was on top of him and was winning the fight. Mr Zimmerman was legally armed and while acting as a neighborhood watch captian was prudent in doing so.

When you carry a firearm, you automatically become a gun fighter. You can no longer afford to loose a fight. When you lose the fight , you lose the weapon !

The age , race or sex of your assalant becomes moot at that point.

A FL grandjury would normally determine whether to charge Mr. Zimmerman but the President has asked the Justice department to appoint a special prosicutor before FL has even ruled on the case.

Not surprised to hear that BillM. This administration is doing everything it can to increase federal power and diminish state and individual power. I'm afraid this will eventually lead to Spock's assessment of what's coming which is in line with what I see happening based on history both national and international.
